My Mom Believed in Me, Now I Make Millions on YouTube... by Riding a Bike
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I completed my 12th Non-med in 2012 and graduated From IP University with Mechanical Engineering. However, I didn't find An engineering job to be Exciting and by the end of my graduation I was making more money than Entry level jobs so I thought I should focus on YouTube and Cycling more.
I guess when I was in 10th I broke my bicycle after doing stunts and society didn't really promote cycling after my teenage, everyone expected me to upgrade from cycle to scooty, however, in 2nd year of college, I found this even known as Raahgiri, which brought me back to cycling.
And now I am here, crossing a million mark just by cycling, and making videos about it.
2. How did you decide to make your passion your career? Was your family supportive?
I found growth in My final year in college, where I was making more money than entry-level jobs, so I thought let's give it a try, so I came full time as a YouTuber, people also told me to try a motorbike or a car channel rather than focusing on bicycles, however, I think only because of the bicycle I was able to grow this much.
Yes, my mother was really supportive, she had faith in me, afterwards my father started supporting me too, and this was at that time when people used to make fun of social media influencers. And never thought this was a career.
3. Who is your favorite player and what have you learned from him/her?
Back in the day, I couldn't get enough of 'Seth's Bike Hacks'! From mastering bunny hops to building DIY jumps, his videos were a game-changer. You could tell he genuinely loved bikes and had this knack for explaining things in a way that made even complex tricks feel doable.
4. What is the level of commitment and time required to make a sport a career?
You need to give your morning time. waking up at 4 am means you need to sleep at 10 PM.So basically you need to be Strict. And yes the Saturday Sunday family plans are gone. Because the weekend is the most intense. For some people it's impossible, but for people who wanna stay healthy, this is easy too.
5. How can we encourage more youngsters to take up sports as a full-time profession?
Often, children inherit their core beliefs about work and ambition from their parents. When parents embrace the idea that passion can lead to fulfilling careers, it creates a nurturing environment where dreams can truly take flight. Imagine the world if we all celebrated a diverse range of aspirations, not just traditional paths.
Bio
Hey, I am Vaibhav Malik, more known as 'Fat biker Vaibhav' and the reason is because I used to Ride fat Bikes with Massive Tyres.
And partly because in case I get Fat in the future, I won't take it as an Insult 😂. From childhood onwards I used to be really naughty and I Still Am....but this naughtiness is conveyed to me by adding comedy in informative videos.
