People have been concerned with this issue for a long time and it's not only sci-fi fans that are asking these questions. The scriptures also have their say about the end of the world!
So, bring along your favorite snack (I am used to chips and salsa) and let's see the world from various religious perspectives. Please, I promise, this is so much more than just the dreary sounding one and you might even discover that some details are quite relatable to what's happening today.
A Common Thread - The Concept of Apocalypse Across Religions
First of all have you ever come across the notion that different religions are able to provide their own narratives of the world-ending? Almost like they all sat down one day and said Alright, it's time to mess with everybody I can't What are we doing?.
All banter aside, it is very interesting rather than frightening. Whether it is the Christianity religion, Islam, Hinduism or any other, all have shared incredible vision into the situation of the world at the end of time.

Hinduism sees time as is cyclical, it's really quite fascinating. For me, sometimes it feels like a Kali Yuga mind-numbingly bad day that sees not a single ray of sunshine here and there except the eternal sun of Utopia.
But I guess there is also a silver lining. A few thinkers among them feel that, the world will be reborn by the efforts of Lord Kalki. When some Hinduists are looking at the present situation and say, yeah, this is what is happening now! They too believe there is a divine plan after all and that it may, eventually, pave the way for a new beginning.
Buddhism - The Decline and Renewal of Dharma
The followers of the Buddha faith, have a somewhat different perspective. According to them, the primary reason for concern is the Dharma degradation that is, in essence, the loss of principles and codes for a moral life.
