"Breaking into the industry without any connections or a godfather is tough, but talent, patience, and the right timing can open doors."
1. From Rajpur to Mumbai, your journey has been inspiring. What motivated you to take this leap despite family opposition?
I've been a cinema lover since childhood, and that passion was the driving force behind my move to Mumbai. Despite facing opposition and obstacles, my love for acting never wavered. I knew this was the path I was meant to follow.
2. You hold degrees in Computer Science and an MBA. What made you switch to modeling and acting?
Yes, I was academically inclined, but my passion for acting always remained strong. It was that deep passion that ultimately led me to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
3. Your mother supported your career shift. What’s the biggest lesson she taught you?
I lost my father in childhood, so my mother played the role of both parents in my life. She was a strong woman despite coming from a conservative background, and she always encouraged me to be independent and fearless. The biggest lesson she taught me was to believe in myself, no matter who stands by me or not.
4. How did winning titles like Miss Raipur Chhattisgarh (2018) and Miss India Elegant Model (2019) shape your confidence?
Stepping onto the stage in front of so many people gave me immense confidence. Winning those titles reassured me that I was on the right path. It taught me to express myself fearlessly and claim my place in the world with conviction.
5. Your filmography includes movies like You & Me, Raaz, Murder, and Dhokha. What kind of roles excite you the most, and how do you prepare for them?
I gravitate towards strong, challenging roles—characters that are completely different from who I am in real life. I don’t want to be typecast; I want to be a versatile actress. Playing complex, layered roles pushes me to explore my craft and grow as an artist.
6. How was your experience working in Telugu films, and how does it compare to Bollywood?
Bollywood and Tollywood have distinct work cultures. In Bollywood, the industry operates with a high level of professionalism, whereas in the Telugu industry, I’ve observed a deep emotional connection to filmmaking. There, people treat their work as worship, which adds a personal touch to the process.
7. As an outsider in the industry, have you faced major challenges? How do you navigate them?
Absolutely. Breaking into the industry without any connections or a godfather is tough. But talent, patience, and continuous self-improvement make a difference. It takes time to get noticed, but once people recognize your potential, doors start to open. And, of course, luck plays a role—meeting the right people at the right time is crucial.
8. If you could star in a biopic, whose story would you love to portray?
Being a die-hard cinema lover, I’d love to portray a legendary actress. My dream role would be a biopic on the iconic Sridevi ma’am. And if the opportunity comes a decade later, I’d love to play Kangana Ranaut ma’am—an actress and now a Member of Parliament, whose journey is truly inspiring.
