1. How did ‘Crafter Aditi’ begin? What pulled you into DIY?

It all began in my bedroom with nothing more than scissors, glue, and leftover chart paper. I’ve always enjoyed making things with my hands—whether it was cards, décor pieces, or little hacks. I started posting short DIY videos on YouTube purely for fun, and to my surprise, people began watching, recreating, and loving them. That’s when “Crafter Aditi” was born.

2. What inspired you to recreate the ₹35 lakh LV rickshaw bag?

I came across it online and couldn’t help but laugh. A luxury brand making an auto-rickshaw bag for ₹35 lakh? I thought, “This is so wild… I have to make my own version.” It felt like the perfect challenge—combining luxury with pure desi jugaad.

3. Your version cost under ₹2000. What does that say about creativity vs. luxury?

It says a lot. I spent less than ₹2000, yet people still mistook it for a real designer piece! It proves that creativity isn’t about how much money you spend—it’s about vision, patience, and a touch of madness. You don’t need big bucks to make a big impact.

4. The project took 14 days. How did you stay motivated through the struggle?

Honestly, I was exhausted—covered in glue, short on sleep, and constantly questioning myself. But I kept reminding myself that this wasn’t just another DIY; it was a statement. I wanted to prove that we, as creators, can match global standards using nothing but foam sheets and heart. That belief kept me going.

5. How did you manage to handcraft the LV pattern so precisely?

I traced the pattern by hand using homemade stencils. It was slow, painstaking work that required immense focus. I’d zoom into the original bag, sketch each detail, and then carefully recreate every symbol with a fine brush. Even though it was just an auto-shaped bag, it was still LV—so the level of detail was extraordinary. The intricacy of the design made it challenging to replicate, but the satisfaction when it all came together was worth it.

6. What was the most surprising reaction you got after the video went viral?

Some people genuinely believed I had bought the original LV bag and simply painted over it! That cracked me up. But beyond that, the love and disbelief were overwhelming. I never imagined so many people would relate to and celebrate a DIY project. It just goes to show—luxury is often about perception. If you can replicate the look and feel, very few question the price tag.

7. With 14M+ followers now, how do you keep your craft fresh and exciting?

I draw inspiration from everyday life. A tiffin box, a paan stall, a cracked mirror—anything can spark a DIY idea if you approach it with curiosity. I try to blend fun, nostalgia, and desi charm with modern trends. Trends change daily, and you never really know what the audience will connect with, but I focus on what fascinates both me and my viewers. And I never stop experimenting—even if something flops, it pushes me to create better.

8. If LV offered you a collaboration, what crazy ‘India-inspired’ idea would you pitch?

I’d go completely desi! Imagine a vintage sandook-style bag, a dabbawala-themed tote with tiffin compartments, or even a wedding baraat travel bag with lights and moving wheels. If LV is ready, I’ve got the jugaad ideas.
