Every tutorial is a reminder that confidence is the best thing you can wear

Q. You’ve built a platform where beauty feels less like a routine and more like a ritual. How did your journey with hair, skin, and makeup begin, and what kept you hooked to it?

Honestly, it started with curiosity. Growing up, I was always experimenting with every household ingredient —sometimes out of necessity, other times just for fun and that turned into rituals I genuinely looked forward to.

Over time, I realized beauty was more than surface-level—it was a way to express myself, connect with others by creating content about it. That emotional side of beauty is what keeps me coming back.

Q. Your content simplifies hacks and DIYs that everyone needs. What’s one surprising beauty secret you swear by that still shocks people when they try it?

Ice! Something as simple as dipping your hair in ice cold water can help tame stubborn frizz, repairs damage and makes hair smooth and shiny. People always underestimate it until they try it, and then it becomes their favorite step. It’s budget-friendly, effective, and feels like a mini spa moment.

Q. Beauty is often seen as visual, but your tutorials also carry a sense of comfort and accessibility. Do you think beauty can be a form of self-care therapy?

A hundred percent, yes. I think beauty routines are a form of self-talk. The way you cleanse your skin, treat your hair, or apply makeup—it’s a conversation with yourself. It can lift your mood, or even help you reset mentally. I always try to create content that feels like a friend guiding you, because for so many of us, beauty is also emotional care.

Q. As the founder of @maroon_beauty_, what gap in the beauty space were you most eager to fill, and how do you see your brand evolving in the future?

With Maroon Beauty, I just wanted to create a product that no one can find elsewhere. I make the hair oil at home with home grown herbs which is 100% natural and that thing is difficult to find nowadays.

It’s still growing, but my vision is to make it a community-led brand that’s accessible, effective, and rooted in simplicity. In the future, I’d love to expand into more product development and create essentials that people can trust without needing 10 extra steps.

Q. You experiment across hair, skin, and makeup—three worlds that often overlap but also compete for attention. Which of these do you personally feel most connected to, and why?

It’s tough, but I’d say hair. Hair care has always felt the most personal to me. It’s tied to confidence, identity, and even cultural roots. I love discovering ways to keep it healthy and expressive, whether that’s through protective styles, DIY masks, or just learning how to listen to what my hair needs.

Q. Digital creators often influence trends, but they’re also influenced by their audience. Has your community ever changed the way you think about beauty or encouraged you to try something unexpected?

Definitely. Sometimes they’ll suggest ingredients I’ve never tried. One time, I casually mentioned skipping a step, and my DMs were full of better alternatives from followers. They inspire me as much as I try to inspire them.

Q. You’ve collaborated with brands but also built your own. How do you strike the balance between being a creator who shares products and an entrepreneur shaping them?

It’s all about staying authentic. As a creator, I test and share products that truly resonate with me and my audience. That insight then feeds into my mindset as an entrepreneur. I can spot gaps, needs, and desires that bigger brands sometimes miss. The key is transparency and always keeping my community at the center of both roles.

Q. A fun one to end with, if you could design a beauty hack that works like magic (instant and impossible in real life), what would it be and why?

An instant flawless base—like, one swipe and your skin looks filtered, even, glowy, and still you. No layers, no blending, no creasing. Just a second-skin finish in two seconds. Because let’s be real—some days, we just don’t have the time, but still want to feel confident stepping out the door.
