What should your Netflix Priorities Be?

Buckle up for this is the time when you cannot resist to Netflix and Chill. Netflix has provided us with the best series from high school dramas to thrillers. The suspense created by the cliff hanger of the last season finally ends and the new originals will tug at your heartstrings. From new seasons of your favourites to new originals which might just be your prospective favourites, Netflix is coming back with a bang. 
Let’s find out the upcoming seasons and originals that you simply cannot miss.


1.      Sacred Games, season 2
Sacred Games is a crime thriller that covers everything from the underworld, religion to politics. The first season made our stomachs turn at gruesome sights like watching Sartaj’s thumb being chopped off and our hearts skip a beat at the numerous twists in the story. 
What happens in season two has been kept a mystery to all of us but it seems that it will mainly revolve around the “Teesra baap” (third father) played by Pankaj Tripathi as depicted in season one. Season 2 releases on 15th August and one thing we can be sure about is that it will definitely drop a bombshell.
2.      Mindhunter, Season 2
Mindhunter is another crime thriller that immerses you into the intriguing point of view of the serial killers. FBI agents and a psychologist help current cases by understanding the working of the mind of a serial killer by interviewing them. 
Ever since the first season came out two years ago, the second season is long-awaited and is based on the Atlanta murders of 1979-81 where at least 28 children, adolescents, and adults were killed. Don’t forget to tune in on the 16th of August to find out what may have been going on in the killer’s mind.
3.      Bard of Blood
Based on the book written by Bilal Siddiqui, Bard of Blood is a new series releasing on 27th September. The story is supposed to revolve around an ex- RAW agent and his race against time to save the country. 
Its cast includes Emraan Hashmi Vineet Kumar Singh, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kirti Kulhari and Rajit Kapoor. Siddiqui wrote the novel at the age of 20 during his college days. It was published in 2015 and the fact that its web series has already been filmed in English, Hindi and Urdu indicating the kind of audience the series is expected to cater to.
4.      Narcos: Mexico, season 2
Narcos is a crime drama series. Season 1 and 2 revolved around the Columbian drug lord and one of the most dangerous men of the mid-80s, Pablo Escobar. Season 3 focused on the rival gang Cali Cartel. After that, Narcos was rebooted as Narcos: Mexico and is based on the drug cartel in Mexico with Felix Gallardo being the protagonist. 
Narcos shows you the reality of organized crime and drug lords. Season 2 of Narcos: Mexico is upcoming and guaranteed to blow your minds away. It’ll show how Felix manages to successfully run both weed and cocaine businesses without getting caught.
5.      The Umbrella Academy
A super-hero series based on the comic book series, The Umbrella Academy is a tale of seven children born in mysterious conditions and possessing superpowers, who are later adopted by an eccentric billionaire. They come together after their father’s death and try to save the world.
 Season one leaves us with many questions and huge suspense at the end. The filming started in June 2019 and all we can do is wait to seek answers to those questions.
6.      To All the Boys: PS I still Love you
To all the boys I’ve loved before, a rom-com that revolves around a high school love story, was a huge hit on Netflix. Peter Kavinsky, one of the main characters, found himself on the “goals” list of many. 
Lana Condor and Noah Centineo will be back as Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky in the awaited sequel in 2020.
7.      Sex Education, season 2
This series follows the lives of teenagers trying to navigate relationships and sex while figuring out their own identities. It shows us the difficulties and peer pressure faced by high school students and makes us fall in love with the characters.  
Filming for the second season has already begun, so the new season is expected to hit Netflix at the end of 2019 or early 2020.


No one can deny how incredibly Netflix has shaped audience tastes and modified viewer habits. Netflix is one of the best platforms for original series and movies and anyone with even the weirdest taste in series or movies finds his/her pick here. The following year may bring some sad endings but Netflix will never fail to give us something different and new. 
So, don’t forget to plan your Netflix priorities so that you can binge on your choice of series and shows guilt-free.
