Mehul Choudhary’s Youth Leadership Conference Experience

I was searching for an opportunity where I could hone my social skills and that is when I came across the Youth Leadership Conference through my college. I thought that if I would be able to interact with people better and learn even one new thing, then it would be enough, but to my surprise, I gained a lot more than expected.
I had no idea what we would be doing or how the things would work out. I had so many doubts related to the event and I didn’t even know anybody from the conference before, except Ms Tanya Kathpal who is the founder of Eat My News and was in regular contact with me through WhatsApp. I was so anxious the day before the conference that I wasn’t able to sleep properly and was checking my phone every two or three hours. I just repeatedly said one thing to myself that, let’s see what happens and face it.
When I got there, I realised that I was getting all frazzled for nothing as I could feel positivity, good vibes and enthusiasm from the moment I entered the plenary of the conference. The first thing to experience was the heart-warming greetings from the core members. Everyone over there was so welcoming and cheerful that after some time it started to feel like home, inhibitions went out of the window and it became a comfortable space.
Apart from socialising, there were a lot of fun activities and insightful and sessions which were eye-opening. Some of the many things which I learnt from there included time management, emotional intelligence, social skills, branding yourself and self-awareness. It made me realise that no matter how much you learn there always will be the scope of improvement and development.
I can without even a single doubt say that listening to all the amazing speakers and interacting with such different types of people during these two days made me grow as a better person. This workshop was a marvellous roller coaster ride for me as there was so much happening around and there was so much to learn. This was a ride (experience) I would recommend everybody to take.
