Are You Ready for Block Buster Diwali Movie Releases?

Diwali is the peak time for any business to boost itself, better and faster than any quarter in the financial year.  Given the economic slowdown in the country where everybody from shopkeepers to multinational companies and e-commerce websites is set to strategically take advantage of the festive season, how can Bollywood or if you prefer the Hindi Film Industry not strike when the iron is hot.
This Diwali weekend is all in to get next-level entertainment and spark festivities. From the commercial and fun-packed Housefull franchise is ready to pack a punch with its ensemble cast in Housefull 4. The other Diwali release whose songs found their place in the dandiya sessions of Navratri is Made in China. With the likes of method actors such as Rajkumar Rao, Paresh Rawal and television sensation Mouni Roy the film seems very promising. When it comes to promising films there are hardly any biopics that do not deliver. The Diwali biopic for this season is the Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Saand Ki Aankh’


Housefull 4

Akshay Kumar, who has two 100 crores films in 2019 with successive hits in Kesari and Mission Mangal want to make hattrick with the latest instalment of houseful. After a long, we get to see Akshay Kumar doing a comedy film. the fourth edition of their "Housefull' franchise film Housefull 4. This film also Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh along with some new faces like Kirti Kharbanda, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, Rana Daggubati and a couple of other actors. Rana Daggubati of Bahubali fame will also be seen in the movie while Sacred Games actor Nawazuddin Siddique will also have a cameo in the film.  The film directed by Sajid-Farhad is based on epic reincarnation comedy centred on three couples across two eras: 1419 and 2019. Akshay's #TheBalaChallenge has already got the nation grooving.  While the trailer has generated more than 70 million views it will be exciting to see if the film lives up to its reputation.


Made in China

Another movie with an interesting concept is Made in China. Directed by Mikhil Musale it comes from the makers of epic films like 'Stree', 'LukkaChhupi' and 'Hindi medium'. The Rajkumar Rao and Mouni Roy starring comedy film is based on a small-time Gujarati businessman (played by Rajkumar Rao) who, after many failed enterprises, heads to China and returns home with a successful formula in a Viagra-like supplement. It is billed as "a celebration of the spirit of entrepreneurship and a never-say-die attitude". The movie emphasis on the Indian concept of "jugaad". With is film Rajkumar is looking to cement its place after strong outings in Stree and judgemental Hai Kya.


Saand Ki Aankh

Two of the most versatile actresses in Hindi film industry right now PINK' actress Taapsee Pannu and 'Dum LagaKeHaisha' actress Bhumi Pednekar together make for a talent powerhouse. The two actresses play the parts of India's oldest sharpshooters Chandro (87) and PrakashiTomar (82) hailing from a small village in Uttar Pradesh the film also marks the directorial debut of Tushar Hiranandani. It is a biopic about real-life sharpshooters from Uttar Pradesh who took up shooting in their 60s to motivate their granddaughters to aim for a better life. The biopic promises a lot of emotional drama, funny one-liners, nerve-wracking shoot scenes and some excellent acting by the actresses. The film is up for stiff Box-Office competition with 'Made in China' and 'Housefull 4' on 25 October 2019.


The Current wars

One of the less known Hollywood movies in this Diwali is "The Current wars". After 2 years since its premiere in Toronto International film festival. Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch are popularly known as Doctor Strange and Spider in marvel universe come together for this epic drama film which finally hits the theatre on 25th October the movie depicts the war of the currents between Thomas Edison and partners George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla. You can expect mind-blowing action sequences, drama and class act performances that will give you an adrenaline rush. So, expect nothing but the best. Fingers crossed. 


What will be interesting to see is where do the interests of the Indian audiences bend, with the Indian soul beating to what Bollywood has to offer and a bunch of Tom Holland fans rooting for him, there is a chance that The Current Wars might wage a real box office war with the Bollywood Diwali releases. Whatever your choice may be, be ready to have a blockbuster Diwali.
