Tell us more about your role & responsibilities at your college.

I'm currently the Official Representative of the Theatre Society of my college. Every year, a bunch of passionate girls join this space, space where energies are created, explored and passed down to its generations. I believe a theatre society is for those who are dedicated to travel through their minds and explore every inch of it. Heading the society, we try to bring the most out of them, through the process and creation of Street and Stage Play Theatre.

What's it like to juggle between a leadership role and normal college life?

For me, college means Abhivyakti. The major part of the day goes into research, discussions and practices in college. These 3 years have been extremely different, a lot more challenging and exciting, struggling through the creation of some beautiful ideas and content.

Coping up with studies is an altogether difficult task, but all of us give our best to balance it along, bringing out the best in both worlds.

Do you enjoy the kind of influence you hold at such a young age?

I would say, rather than enjoying the influence, I cherish each and every time, I'm able to bring a change through my actions, every time each play speaks out and depicts the struggles of the time. There are things in life which are never told, but sometimes when those little things are talked about, we realise how we were simply denying the existence of it and how much importance does it actually hold.

Do you have a message for parents to allow their kids to do things besides academics?

Talking about my society, there are a number of girls, who have been suffering daily, who are not allowed to be a part of such things, because their parents don't support them.

But I believe that the strength of girls performing for a cause is equal to the strength of the entire nation. And there shouldn't be any restrictions for letting their girls do things, besides their academic courses, because that freedom will let them grow and be the best versions of themselves.

What did you do in your current role that makes you feel really proud of yourself?

I am really proud of how, every year, we unveil different aspects and ideologies, create girls who free themselves from the clutches of standards and learn to stand for what is right. Girls come with fresh and vulnerable minds and leave as women with strong and independent ideologies and selves. I'm really proud of being a part of such cause.

What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

I believe internships and conferences are opportunities that give you a chance to explore your interests and hobbies. Colleges in Delhi University provide a number of opportunities for the students to improve, learn and grow through internship fairs and conferences in college campuses. Besides the curriculum, participating in such activities let the students know about the different genres or areas where they can explore.
