1. Tell us more about your role and responsibilities.

As a student of animation in Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Japiur Campus my life is like the brain should be flooded with creative ideas every single day. Why? that's because you have to sketch every single day for hours and hours and always have stories for illustrations and conceptual art. Also, since I'm the CR, my responsibility is to make the communication smooth between the teachers and students and that all the information should reach the students.

2. How challenging is it to maintain a balance between your responsibilities and academics?

It is not so challenging for me to balance my academics and my responsibilities because I'm in a field that I really love and it's my passion. Sketching all day long and framing short stories is like my daily work. It can be said that sometimes I do get a little pressurized from the work apart from academics since I am also a part of The Cultural Committee. Doing the voluntary work is a little hectic in the college but it is fun at the same time.

3. As a student leader, what is the one major challenge that you have overcome?

Time Management. I would say Time Management because that has always been the hardest part in my everyday schedule to handle. I used to spend most of my time on my phone using social media apps and other not-so-useful stuff. Taking responsibilities made me think about my life a little more seriously since I have many things to do but a set amount of time. By taking responsibilities I made commitments and I have this attitude of not letting others down, so I have to complete the task. With this I could also improve my personality and i became more multi-tasking.

4. Do you think parents’ support plays a role in deciding whether a student has an active extra-curricular life or not? What is your message to all the parents?

Well I would say that parents' support actually plays an important role here because if they don't support the extra-curricular activities the student might not be able to enjoy his/her college life as he/she might not build their life openly on their own experiences.
Doing extra activities apart from academics helps quite a lot in shaping the personality of a student and makes him/her a multi-tasker. My message to all the parents is to – please allow your kids to find their own dream/passion and let them flourish in their own fields. Let them build their own lives.

5. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

Doing internships and attending conferences is very beneficial and it always will be. Why?Because you meet different types of people and clients and according to those experiences you'll know in what type of environment you will work once you get your dream job and what kind of work pressure you will have to handle. With the conferences you might also learn about other sections of your field which is of course helpful. Also building contacts and making friends through these will help you get to know people with similar interests and what type people you'll have in your work area.
