1. Tell us more about your role and responsibilities at your college.
I am pursuing BCA from Institute of Information Technology and Management and I am the leader of western dance society named INCUBUS. We train students for many dance competitions and our team includes 17 dancers.
2. How can we encourage more young students such as yourself to take up leadership role?
The best way to encourage young students is to make them realise their importance in the team. As we all know there is no limit to gain experience therefore sometimes young students give such ideas or tips which really helps in completion of certain tasks. If we appraise their input, their moral will be boosted which will in return help them explore their leadership qualities.
3. What have been your biggest challenges and learning from what you do?
Our biggest challenge was when I, as a leader of the team got injured severally while performing on stage in a competition. But challenges come and go; the one who deals them with confidence never fails and gets success. Same my team did. They continued performing in different events and won many of them. The thing I learned was to never feel defeated. It is either you win or you learn.
4. What are your career goals and how is what you are doing is going to help you with that?
My goal in life is to serve my country by being part of Indian Airforce. I feel proud to be the leader of my dance team as it helped me explore my strong and weak areas. Also it helped me to gain a good amount confidence and enhanced my leadership skills
5. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?
I would like to tell students to do their internships with full heart as it will help students to explore themselves and they will for sure provide a kick start to there future endeavours. Attending conference would provide a great amount of knowledge and someone has truly said knowledge is the key to success.
