1. Tell us more about
your role & responsibilities at your college.
I
have learnt a lot during my 3 years in DU. During the 1st year, I was
elected as a class representative. Then
in 2nd year, I got the opportunity to become an executive member of
NSS & Joint Secretary of B.A Programme's Departmental Society.
Other than being a class representative, I am the Cultural President of Delhi University Student Union (DUSU), & President
of History Society, Vice President of Mimansa (a society for moral education), the student editor of the college magazine, & volunteer and project Co-coordinator of
NSS.
I
gave my best and devoted my time to the society and the student committee while
holding the posts.
2. What's it like to
juggle between a leadership role and a normal college life.
It
is tough but I believe positivity is the key to make life easier. I have a
daily schedule according to my studies and other responsibilities that I
follow. Rather
then going out I prefer staying in and revising what I have learnt during the
week.
My
best friend Shaurya Dutt helps and supports me a lot.
3. How do your
parent's look at you participating in extracurricular activities?
My
parents have never put any pressure on me & they always readily support my
dreams and ambitions. They believe in me & in my ability to succeed. My
message to parents is that please keep supporting & encouraging your
children.
4. What are the top
skills that you have learnt with what you do?
My aim is to be a researcher in Indian Politics. As it is a huge part of social
studies, my current roles & responsibilities are preparing me for my career
in researching politics. This is also helping me in improving my social
professional skills.
5. How can we
encourage more young students such as yourself to take-up leadership roles?
Leadership
is great art, and it is associated with us in every part of our life, the
leader has many responsibilities it gives him social prestige and developed
his personality. So we must be involved in leadership
6. What you did in
your current role that makes you feel really proud of yourself?
The proudest moment of my life has to be when I founded and lead the project, ‘SAHYOG:- Ek Pahal’ which is an effort to help visually impaired students
with reading and studying. Helping them and seeing them smile is worth every
effort.
7. What's your message
to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?
Internships
& Conferences provide us with a very different & positive environment.
One gets to meet & interact with various people from different backgrounds.
This improves one's social interaction & skills & one should enthusiastically
take part in them.
