1. Tell us about your background and
journey.
I am a student pursuing Post
graduation in MBA. After completing my 8th standard I had a passion
towards athletics. It was a journey of 3 years.
During the age of 15 I participated
in district level athletic meet and I bagged a prize. But when I stepped into
12th standard my parents were not allowed me to go for further
athletic competition and they want me to do concentrate only on studies. Then
after a year I joined my UG College where there is no recognition for sports,
but we made it different.
We formed a group but this time it’s
not athletics, it’s a football and this is a stage of kick-start to my career
and now I’m a part of Madurai football club.
2. How did you decide to make your
passion your career? Was your family supportive?
I did not find it over thinking
about this passion and make it sort of a career. I progress things as I see it
fit beginning with my childhood days.
During my childhood days, my parents
were not that much supportive and they worried about me but as days passes they
started to trust me, supported me and motivated me which made me to be
successful in career.
3. Who is your favorite player and
what have you learnt from him?
My all-time favorite player is Usain
St Leo Bolt. A good example is the Olympic 100 m final in Rio de Janeiro where
he starts near the back but he keeps running, he concentrates, and he does not
panic.
So the lesson I learnt was simple,
whatever everyone is doing with their careers and lives is completely
irrelevant, as long as you can have fun and still manage to be one of the first
to cross the finish line.
4. What is the level of commitment
and time required to make a sport a career?
To be a Sports person one needs to
be physically fit, energetic and enthusiastic. Besides possessing ability
patience, perseverance and a sporting spirit are the things, which give
confidence to fight back under any circumstances.
Once a person decides to take up
playing a particular sport as a profession, then the training for it takes
precedence over everything else.
5. How can we encourage more
youngsters to take up sports as a full time profession?
First and foremost thing is that
creating awareness, many are thinking that sports are just an entertainment but
this is more than that. Right information regarding sports has to reach them
through social media or any other platforms. Sports Provides various career
options like Sports analyst, sports lawyer, sports manager, sports journalism,
sports commentator, sports writer, sports marketing and so on.
This information has to reach to the
people so that they will get a clear idea regarding sports as a full time
profession.
6. Which is your favorite book and
why?

told how he wins races and smashing records one by one. The untold truth of his
life and his journey from teenage sensation to international superstar was very
