1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I was born and brought up in Delhi. I am doing my bachelor’s in Psychology from Delhi University. Being a Delhiite, I think you’ve already got the idea of my love for food. I am a foodie by heart. There is a phrase - “Good food is Good mood”, which totally goes with me. Food makes me happy and I love to explore new cuisines.

I was always fascinated by the beauty of food which made me capture it a lot. Every time I go out, I used to click a lot of pictures of food. I am a total sucker for street food especially ‘Purani Delhi Ka Khana’.

2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?

As everybody could see my love for food, my friends suggested me to make a food page and share those pictures among others. I was so much convinced by their idea and started working on it from the same day. It was last year in July when I started my food page on Instagram and named it “Spoonsoftaste_”.

I started writing reviews on Zomato too. I still remember the day I went to a blogger’s meet for the very first time. I was nervous but excited too. I was lucky enough that I made a lot of friends there and from there on my journey was full of learning new skills, sharing ideas with each other, and making memories every day.

3. Is vlogging and Instagram content creation a financially sustainable career?

Yes, it is a financially stable career only if when you take it as your full-time job. There are a lot of people who’ve opted for this career and are earning quite well. This is possible only if you devote all your time and dedication to it. It’s a long process so you need to have patience.

4. Who is your favorite creator and why?

One of my favorite content creators is ‘Be Cure Fit’. I follow them on Instagram and I am obsessed with their content. They teach you how to eat whatever you want to but in a healthy way. I love their approach towards staying fit without compromising on your cravings just by substituting some ingredients.

5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

I think it depends on the level of creativity a person has when it comes to churning out content. One thing that really makes me happy and changes my mood is food. The idea that I could share my mood and food reviews inspire me to work regularly on my page.

It is the love and appreciation you get from your friends, family and of course, the followers who inspire you to create new content and their love pushes you to be productive each and every day, In this one year, I have learned a lot of dynamics of what really goes behind a picture, be it editing, image angles and the aesthetics which play an important part in content creation.

6. What does your typical day look like?

Apart from being quarantined for the last three months, I wasn’t a person who stays at home for this long. Being a college student, my day starts by getting up early in the morning and driving to college. After college, usually I go to the bloggers to meet with my fellow bloggers. And trust me, it becomes the best part of the day. Blogging is like therapy for me.

There are days when I am fully occupied by my college work and I really don’t have time to go out. That’s why I plan my weekends for exploring new places.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

To be honest, I was never a book-person but quarantine made me read some books and I really liked ‘IKIGAI’. It is about finding happiness and living a better and longer life. I like this book because of the simplicity and minimalism it shows to the world and how can we live longer just by adopting some healthy habits in our daily lives.

8. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?

‘Flying starts from the ground. The more grounded you are, the higher you fly’. This is what my mother has taught while raising me. And I think this is the best advice I can give to others.

Even after one year of blogging, I still call myself a newbie in this food blogging community. I have learned a lot of things and I am still learning. I believe that you should always be grateful for the opportunities you get and try to make the best out of it. You should be canny enough to grow and grounded enough to fly higher.
