1. Tell us about your background and journey.
We are two people behind this page, Akshata and Shivam. Our backgrounds are totally different, Akshata is pursuing bachelors of Physiotherapy and Shivam completed B.com (hons.) from DU. The common thing between us is our love for food.
2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?
It all started in 2018. We loved to visit new/different cafes, streets and places that served nice and authentic food.
We realized we could make a social media page when we used to put food snaps/stories on our personal handles and our friends would love those shots and ask the whereabouts of the respective dish.
So we decided to launch our İnstagram page with the name @dharti.ka.bhoj(pun intended) and started putting up photos there with details of the location.
3. Is vlogging and Instagram content creation a financially sustainable career?
At our current level, we wouldn’t say it’s financially sustainable but we are working towards it and we are sure in the near future it can be our main source of income as digital media is booming. We have already worked with well-renowned brands and we are excited for all the opportunities that future holds for us.
4. Who is your favorite creator and why?
Our favorite content creator has to be Gaurav Taneja aka flying beast, he inspires us to be the best versions of ourselves. In our community we are inspired by kuljyoti dhingra and we really admire her content as it's relatable and super hilarious!
5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
Inspiration is everywhere. We get inspired from nature, from our followers who send us suggestions, from our families and friends and even from creators in other fields. Making content that is well received by the audience also inspires to make more such content.
6. What does your typical day look like?
Our typical day as content creators involves shooting 1 to 2 recipe videos a day (especially during lockdown as we all have adapted to working from home), editing the previously shot videos/ photos, writing and publishing 2-3 posts per day on our page and also planning the content for next day.
We also take out time to go through comments/ messages and interact with our audience.
7. Which is your favorite book and why?
In fiction, we would like to go with the Harry Potter series because we grew up reading it so it's a huge part of our childhood.
Also, one book that we recommend everyone to read is ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne. That book teaches you about the power of positivity and law of attraction. It often helps us to find our Centre when everything else seems to be going haywire.
8. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?
Be passionate about what you are doing and always love your content. Be consistent and be interactive with your audience. Believe in your work and be open to suggestions. These are some pointers that have worked for us.
