1.Tell us about your background and journey.

I come from a family of doctors settled in Thrissur. Like most stereotypical children of doctors I too had a dream of following my parents footsteps. But as time went by I realised that it was not my cup of tea. It took a while for me to discover that photography was my passion .Even though i used to like photography from a very young age,I never knew that it could become an integral part of my life.

2.  How and when did you realize your passion for photography?

I belong to a family who loves to travel, going on journeys almost every year. I used to observe my two uncles during these trips who apart from  their passion for their respective fields of medicine and architecture had a special play in their heart for photography too.Watching them capturing moments inspired me .

3. What are some tips you would like to share with amateur photographers?

In all honesty I am an amateur photographer myself .I have lots to learn and am still learning the art of photography. The least I can say is that the two very important things for growth in this field are interaction and experiments. You will always get to learn something when you work with different people. Try new things ,its Ok if you go wrong, push your boundaries.

4. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful photographer?

Dedication, hardwork, patience, concentration are some of the skills I give attention to. Another thing that we rarely think about but is very important  is that the photographer has to put herself in the model's shoes. This gives the photographer an idea where the model stands, their takes and a more clear understanding of oneself.

5. What are various opportunities available for aspiring photographers?

Anybody can take a photograph with any camera. But I believe that the one who can take a photo which tells a story if its own is a true photographer!

6. Which is your favourite book and why?

It's very hard to choose one book .Every book that I have read lives in my heart rent free.
