1. Tell us about your background and journey.

My name is Triparna Banerjee and I'm from Kolkata! I am a social media influencer absolutely out of my passion. Currently, I completed my engineering this year and I'm pursuing an MBA. I'm a big-time foodie and a person who loves to travel.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

My passion for creating unique food recipes, my love for both food and travel led me to this page. It's been nearly 2.5 years now and I'm proud to have a 30k+ family on The_Foodielady! My parents and friends have been extremely supportive in this journey throughout.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

According to me, a blogger is someone who pens down his/her thoughts on any topic that can be on any platform like WordPress or others. On the other hand, an influencer is someone with a good following on any social media platform who tends to "influence" people be it by any trend, new ideas, or brands.

Both are very diverse and interconnected fields. I'm a mix of both. Since I write blogs and I'm very active on social media as well!

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

Yes, it is. There are multiple brands that collaborate based on your content and they also give a decent pay. Being a student I earn quite well and have done more than 6 big trips in a year all with my own earned money.

I have stayed in the best of places and I have international trips lined up -- just waiting for the pandemic to end!

5. What do you think influences consumer behavior?

Influencer activities basically influence consumer behavior. If today suppose I'm posting about a brand and sharing my genuine personal views it creates an impact in the mind of the consumers for sure.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

My idea of success is to try and try harder until you succeed. The worst thing in life is to regret it. Failing is even a better option because at least we tried.

When I had opened the page and it was new initially there was less visibility I used to at times feel sad but I never gave up I was always consistent and today here I am :) Keep striving! Keep thriving!

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

To be a successful social media influencer firstly it has to be your passion! If it just works then it becomes quite tiring and monotonous. Initially, there is more hard work and very little money it's basically like any other business. It's very important to identify the niche and start working. "Jack of all trades master of none"!

It's essential to identify your forte, build good content and network marketing is also very important. Instead of approaching brands wait for them to contact you for your good work. Do smart work not always hard work. Smart work leads to success and of course money comes with it. Be regular with the posting and you're all set to rock!

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho-  A must-read to understand life! It has taught me to never give up if we want something with our true hearts we will definitely achieve it.
