“We never imagined a playful video for our family would explode into 40 million views — that moment didn’t just change our career, it reshaped our entire relationship.”
1. How did your journey as travel and lifestyle creators begin, and what inspired you to pursue it full-time together?
Our journey as creators took an unexpected turn during the pandemic. When COVID hit, we were stuck at home with little to do, so we began filming short videos just for fun and sharing them in our family group chat. It was simply a way to lift spirits and stay connected.
One day, we decided to post one of those videos online—and to our surprise, it went viral, racking up over 40 million views. That moment changed everything. Up until then, we had mostly focused on travel and lifestyle for ourselves, but this sudden response opened a new door for us as a couple. We leaned into that space, creating more content together and sharing both the fun and the real sides of our life as a duo.
What started as a lighthearted way to pass time during lockdown became a full-time passion. It’s been an amazing journey that has brought us closer, allowed us to connect with millions, and let us share the things we love—whether we’re exploring a new country or simply enjoying a cozy moment at home.
2. What’s been the most transformative travel experience you’ve shared as a couple?
Without a doubt, our trip to India was one of the most transformative experiences we’ve ever had. It wasn’t just about visiting a destination—it was a deep cultural immersion that challenged and inspired us in ways we hadn’t anticipated. From the chaos of Delhi to the serenity of Rajasthan’s deserts, we were surrounded by beauty, warmth, and stories that made us reflect on the world and ourselves differently.
What made it so powerful was the way we grew together through it. Navigating unfamiliar environments, trying foods we’d never heard of, and celebrating traditions we were just beginning to understand pushed us out of our comfort zones and strengthened our bond. We learned to trust each other more deeply, slow down and be present, and appreciate just how vast and beautiful the world truly is.
That trip reminded us why we do what we do. It’s not just about creating content or traveling—it’s about connection. India will always hold a special place in our hearts because of that.
3. How do you balance creativity, logistics, and personal life while constantly being on the move?
Balancing everything while constantly traveling is one of the biggest challenges—but also one of the most rewarding parts of this lifestyle. For us, it all comes down to teamwork and intention.
We’ve learned to divide and conquer: Nick typically handles logistics, tech, and planning, while Carrie focuses on creative direction, storytelling, and community engagement. But at the end of the day, everything we do is a collaborative process. We constantly check in with each other—not just about content, but about how we’re personally feeling and what we need.
We also carve out “non-content” time: phone-free dinners, slow morning walks, or days when we explore without the camera. Those moments are sacred. They keep our relationship strong and our creativity fresh.
Ultimately, this fast-paced lifestyle is something we chose together. We treat it as both a career and an adventure, and that mindset helps us stay grounded, no matter where we are in the world.
4. Your content resonates with a global audience. How do you stay authentic and connected to your followers?
Authenticity has always been at the heart of what we do. From the beginning, we’ve shared our real selves—whether it’s the exciting travel moments, the behind-the-scenes chaos, or the quiet, everyday parts of life as a couple. We believe people connect most with honesty, and we aim to bring that into every post.
Even though we have a global audience, we never create content just to “perform” for the algorithm. We focus on what feels true to us in the moment, whether that’s discovering a new country or making tea at home.
We also make a big effort to engage with our community—reading comments, replying to messages, and listening to what people enjoy or want more of. That two-way connection is so important. It reminds us we’re not just broadcasting content; we’re building real relationships with people all over the world.
At the end of the day, we’re simply two people who love sharing life together, and we’re grateful every single day that so many people choose to be part of that journey with us.
5. What are some behind-the-scenes challenges people don’t see, and how have you dealt with them?
One of the biggest misconceptions is that it’s all glamorous travel and picture-perfect moments. But behind the scenes, there are plenty of challenges people don’t always see.
We’ve faced everything from lost luggage in remote locations, burnout from nonstop travel, content underperforming after weeks of effort, to navigating miscommunication and stress as a couple while working together 24/7. When your work and personal life are so closely intertwined, it’s easy for the lines to blur—and that can take a real toll.
What’s helped us most is maintaining open communication and knowing when to pause. Even on the road, we’ve built a routine that includes regular check-ins, intentional breaks, and days when we don’t create content at all. We’ve also learned to embrace imperfection and laugh through the chaos.
It’s not always easy, but those challenges have made us stronger—not just as creators, but as partners. They remind us why we started and keep pushing us to grow, both personally and professionally.
6. In an ever-changing digital landscape, how do you both keep evolving and staying relevant as creators?
The digital world moves incredibly fast, and we’ve had to learn how to adapt without losing our identity. For us, it’s about staying curious and open to change—whether that means experimenting with new platforms, trying out different content formats, or tapping into storytelling styles we haven’t explored before.
We constantly ask ourselves: What do we genuinely enjoy? What does our audience connect with? That balance between following our passion and listening to our community helps us evolve in a way that still feels authentic.
We also invest a lot of time in learning—watching trends, studying what’s working globally, and surrounding ourselves with creative people who inspire us. But more than anything, we focus on consistency and connection.
Platforms may change, algorithms may shift, but authenticity never goes out of style. That’s what keeps people coming back. If you keep showing up with real intention and creativity, you’ll always stay relevant.
7. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to aspiring content creators who want to build a career around travel and storytelling?
Start with your “why.” Travel and storytelling are incredibly powerful, but to build a sustainable career, you need to understand what drives you beyond pretty views or viral moments. Ask yourself: What unique story do I bring to the world?
Also, don’t wait for everything to be perfect. Start with what you have—your phone, your voice, your perspective. Consistency matters far more than perfection, and audiences connect with honesty more than polished production.
Finally, be prepared to put in the work behind the scenes. Travel content might look effortless, but it takes planning, editing, persistence, and plenty of late nights. If you love it enough to stick with it through the tough parts, the rewards can be incredible.
Just remember: it’s not about chasing trends—it’s about building a story that only you can tell.
