1. Tell us more about your experience as an educator.

Hello!!!! This is Anita Sahay, Assistant Professor, Satyug Darshan Institute of Education and Research, Faridabad. Teaching is my passion. I love to teach. I am a constant learner too. I always make myself updated regarding my teaching subjects, it helps me to guide my students appropriately.

As I have already disclosed as I am a teacher educator, my students who are pursuing undergraduate,I learn many things from them. So learning and teaching go side by side for me.

One thing I want to say that if you give something to anyone you will get many things in return from them, which means I am given knowledge, guidance to my students, and in return, they give me their love, respect, affection, belief, experiences and many more. That's why I have written that I love my profession, I love my students. It is a nice and pleasant journey for me.

2. What is your opinion of the Indian education system and how would you like to change that?

Though it is evident that national policy on education 2019 the government has already recommended so many changes in the education system, I think this is because of the new generation enhancement in education and also for time to time Government also provides so many policies so that a student can get benefited from the education system.

I want to say one thing only that education must be job oriented so that it proves to be helpful for the students after completing education they can get a job easily. and also teaching should be as there should be no need for a coaching or tuition system for the students.

Through college or school teaching, they can get enough materials so that this proved to be useful for competitive exams so the curriculum should be competitive exams or job readiness oriented. It helps in reducing the extra financial burden on the shoulders of the parents.

3. What changes in the teaching methodologies have you seen in recent times?

During COVID-19 Period there are lots of changes regarding teaching methodology now it is online oriented there are so many options for teaching and learning processes.

For example, Google classroom provides so many features where teachers can provide their materials assignments, and also students can submit their test papers and also get grades according to their performance.

For face to face interaction between teachers and students, Google hands out prove to be beneficial like Google meet or zoom so there are so many options and now teaching-learning process transfer from offline to online mode in this COVID-19 period.

4. How does education help one do well in their career?

For career progress, education plays an important role. It provides technical knowledge so that pupils can move in the right direction and also helps in new inventions in the respected field. So one has to opt for the right course according to their ability and interest, which should help them to move forward in their life.

5. Do you think teaching as a profession is viewed at par with corporate jobs?

In this present scenario, the education system or teaching profession are becoming businesses. People involved in this sector are using this for making more and more money for themselves, Pupils have to take coaching to achieve success in their respective fields and for this, they have to spend lakhs of rupees on it.

Teaching innocently becomes secondary, earning money becomes primary. That's why I have already mentioned that the education system must be as there should be no need of any coaching centers, students should get all required knowledge and experiences from the curriculum of their respected course. The education sector should not become the corporate sector.

6. How can we adopt technology to make teaching more effective?

As you all know ICT, Information, and Communication Technology bring revolution in the education sector. In the current situation of COVID 19, schools, colleges, and every educational institution are shut down but education never stops.

But how is it possible? Only with the help of ICT. Technology brings education from offline to online mode. In the current situation, no need to go out, only switch on your device like laptop or mobile and with the help of internet connection, face to face interaction between teacher and student will be possible. In every aspect of the teaching-learning process, technology plays an important role.

7. Why does India need more educators like you?

India needs educators who are playing their role in the education sector seriously and also innocently. Teachers must have a passion for not only teaching but also learning. Because a good learner is always a good teacher.

A teacher must update himself according to time and situation and also innovate new methods of teaching. It is rightly said that If learning occurs then teaching occurs, otherwise there will be no teaching.
