1. Tell us more about your journey.

I’m a professional makeup artist and beauty content creator. My journey has been beautiful till yet . Initially this was not something I planned, being an economic student in college i was planning to study further and do MBA but then things changed . My mother wanted me to do something creative in my life so i chose this. I’ve started working as a professional from last year on wards that is 2019, it’s just been 1 year and i think I’ve started loving the person i am becoming a lot.

2. How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?

All credit goes to my mother for building this idea inside my head. After all , a mother knows what’s the best for her child. I got myself enrolled and learned makeup professionally. A key to success is practice and that’s how I’m executing it. I’ve worked with many brands, models, covered so many weddings, fashion shows , events. There is no going back.

3. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and how did you overcome that?

My biggest challenge when I stepped into this industry was competition, there is a huge competition as at this point of time, makeup and fashion industry boomed. It really made me skeptic that will i be able to achieve heights or not but then I realized that competition is everywhere and in every field. There are so many stars in the sky but I only aim at the moon. I overcame my challenge by practicing, by improving myself each and every day. I still do and will always 

do .

4. What do you think are the most important qualities of a successful make-up artist/entrepreneur?

Makeup is a special kind of art. I love how it can change a person.Even with just the tiniest bit of cosmetics, a person can look different. That is what fascinates me every single time. To understand that art is the most important quality of a successful makeup artist. To be outstanding from other artists and to never give up. Some of the keys to being a successful artist are purposefulness, ambition , individuality, clean and good work and most importantly creative.

5. What are some of the most important factors for being a successful freelancer make-up artist/entrepreneur?

A successful makeup artist should be a welcoming personality and alternative listening skills.A makeup artist will need to work with each client individually to enhance their facial features using makeup artistry skills. Listening to each client’s likes and dislikes when it comes to taste and products.

6. What are your tips for first time and aspiring make-up artists/entrepreneurs?

We all know practice makes a person perfect and makeup artistry is no exception. Whether it’s trying out different looks on yourself or your friends , the more you do, the better you’ll be. Never give up, Always believe in what you do. Social media has had a huge impact on makeup artistry , think of all the you tube and Instagram sensations out there, there’s a whole new way to experience ideas.The more you expose your work and are exposed to others,the more you grow.

7. Is it a financially stable career?

Being a makeup artist is an extremely fulfilling and fun and financially stable career.  Depending on your goals as an artist, you can travel the world, work for magazines, open a studio, or be. Community leader or a combo of all the above. This line of work is extremely competitive, so finding your style is the best advice i can give.
