1. Tell us about your role and responsibilities at your college.
Starting from the first day of my college life, it was all new experience and I would say WOW!! It was an amazing journey where years passed like days. I was an active NSS volunteer for all 3 years of this journey, also in my third year I hold the post of treasurer of NSS unit Ram Lal Anand College.
I was a member of Internal complaint committee of our college. Apart from this I was the secretary of VASUDHA- The Eco Club of Our College. Also in my 3rd year, I won the students union election and become the Central Councillor of RLA.
Holding such a responsible post was quite challenging but my passion to bring some positive change in the college helped me achieve whatever I have desired off. Through proper planning and execution, I have successfully completed the responsibilities assigned to me.
2. What are the top skills that you have learnt with what you do?
Three years of college life helps me develop a plethora of skills which includes leadership quality, public speaking and decision making skills. Apart from that, it helps me develop my analytical skills and boosts up confidence in me.
3. How did you rise up to your position and how could the student aspiring the same approach it?
My positive attitude and the ability to analyse and then plan accordingly helped me to perform better. My Mantra in life is to put 100% efforts in whatever task is assigned to me. So, I would like to advice aspiring students to remain positive and to give their best, no matter whatever is the situation.
4. How do your parents look at you participating in extra-curricular?
I would like to say- "Family is my Support System". Whatever, I am today is just because of the constant support and encouragement from my parents. They always motivate me and make me believe in myself. I am lucky to have parents like them as nowadays we see that parents always force their child to obtain marks only, but mine wants me to learn and no matters what the source is practical, bookish or extra-curricular.
5. How can we encourage more young students like yourself to take leadership roles?
We all know that leadership is not just one skill, rather it is the sum of various skills working altogether( being it decision making skill, time management, coordination and lot more.) So, as we all know that no one is leader by birth what we need to do is to provide different learning opportunities to the students, giving them some responsibilities making them accountable for their actions, helping them to learn from their mistakes and appreciating them too for their performance.
6. Do you have any message for the parents to allow their child to go besides academics?
Yes, i would like to say that not everyone is meant for books. Every individual has its own qualities and skill set that can give more joy and mental satisfaction to an individual and apart from this it can make one more successful in area where his/ her interest lies. We should understand that world is full of opportunities.
So instead of pushing your child in the same rat race everyone else is doing, encourage, support and motivate your child in doing whatever makes him happy.I would like to make a humble request to each and every parent to help their child grow and rise in area of his interest. As parents play a major role in child's life - a change in their mindset is all what is needed.
7. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?
Internships and Conferences help students in self-development. Though we all know that academic plays significant role in one's life but there is a loop hole in our education system that it only focuses on theoretical knowledge,so considering this internships are very important in order to provide exposure and practical experience to the students.
Also it leads to overall personality development of an individual. Today, in this competitive era one must have abundant skills in order to rise and shine and as conferences and seminars helps one to develop certain soft skills along with imbiding confidence it will definitely help one grow in his career.
