1.     1. Tell us more about your role & responsibilities at your college?

I was the vice secretary in “perabeats” club. “perabeats is the most active, famous media club in university of Peradeniya. I had a responsibility to maintain all the documents regarding to our club and also to get joined more members to our club.

2.     2. How did you risen up to your position and how can a student aspiring the same, approach it?                                                                                                               

In my 1st year i joined with “perabeats” and I did my best as a member. I joined to all the workshops, club meetings which ware held by the club. I got to know about what is the vision and mission of the club. Then I worked as a photographer in our club. Photography is my passion and my hobby as well.  I was honestly friendly with all the club members, president, secretary etc. 

I listened to them and got their knowledge. Then I shared that knowledge with other members. Always we should try to be friendly with every kind of personalities. Face with a honest smile can make so many changes in hard situations also. I used that method to handle different situations.

3.     3. What has been some of your biggest challenges and learning from what you do?

The biggest challenge was to assign responsibilities to members. To do that we should have good knowledge about other members and their attitudes. So that first of all we should talk with them, we should help new members to get an idea about the club, about the society in there. Then they can give their best to the club and also we can get their best.

I got to learn that there are so many differences between different personalities. Everyone have their unique way while they doing some work. So we should bear these differences and get the best out of best.

4.     4. What did you do in your current role that makes you feel really proud of yourself?

I did my best to achieve goals in our club. I did everything with a honest heart. So that I’m so proud about my self.

5.     5. What’s your message to encourage students to do internship and attend conferences?

Do anything with honest heart and also do what you like to do. Then automatically you make time to attend internships, conferences, workshops etc. I got knowledge and experience via those things.
