1. Tell us more about your role & responsibilities at your college?

Myself Yugal, the ex-Joint Secretary of the commerce association of PGDAV College (Eve.) and the current Media President of Delhi University Student Union for the year 2019-20. As a joint secretary, I played a vital role in leading and motivating my team. Basically, I was headed for sponsorship and logistics for my college fest and I did really well with all my teammates. They all obeyed me with true concentration and As the media president of DUSU I don’t contribute much but at least I motivate and encourage and give some information to some students about their basic rights which they deserve and I once organized a fest and helped with the fund at Motilal college, South campus. I take my responsibility with full devotion and everyone should do the same.

2. How did you rise up to your position and how can a student aspiring the same, approach it?

As in starting when everyone is new to college, it is so hard to prove yourself and to show how capable you are but with the help and true guidance of some seniors and students I got the right path to prove my self after so much of hard work and with true concentration I achieved the position which I wanted. Right now I am the senior coordinator at C.A.P.E. i.e in commerce association of PGDAV college evening and I am working as a technical head and its the best platform to showcase my talent and to improve my skills. Also, it was a new experience for me too. So to achieve this all you need to work consistently and full of devotion.

3. What have been some of your biggest challenges and learnings from what you do?

As I told earlier that to make your name in the college it’s so difficult to prove yourself as best of all but it’s not impossible and with this thinking, I worked with full loyalty and kindness to achieve this. The biggest challenge for me is to manage my studies and work at the same time and I m literally saying that it's too hard to manage both the things at the same time. You need to be an all-rounder to manage all such things. My biggest learning from a college campus is to do each and everything and then choose that one in which you feel satisfied and nothing is impossible and this word says itself that “I m possible “. so there are challenges and learnings but it depends on you how to deal with both.

4. What did you do in your current role that makes you feel really proud of yourself?

Now as a senior I guide my junior and my mates to work for new innovations and to help the one who is in need even I’m not so perfect but some seniors helped me and made me capable of doing something and recognizing my strength s and weaknesses. So, I also help my juniors so that they can also be capable someday and the day when they will thank me it will be worth everything.

5. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

Nowadays internship matters a lot as one can get practical knowledge from it and can learn and experience more about being in a corporate world. Students keep searching for paid internships but according to my internship which teaches you about your course and topic of interest and helps you in improving your skills is much better than those paid one. An internship certificate plays a very vital role in building up your CVs. And apart from these conferences also plays the same role IMUNs are one of the main conferences which everyone should be a part of. DULS is also a great platform to know more about your interest field. According to me, a student must perform both the activities for their overall development.
