1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am born in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu in a Malayalee family. Growing up, I spoke both Malayalam and Tamil. I completed my MBA with finance and marketing as major and post wedding, I moved to USA to live with my husband, Alben Kezhiyur, who also is from a Malayalee family but settled in Andhra Pradesh.

So, interestingly, now we speak 3 south Indian languages (Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu) in common apart from Hindi and English. We have a beautiful 2- year-old Adaelia who keeps us busy.

2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?

I initially developed interest in creating videos since my high school days. Back then, I tried posting some videos which I felt were awe-inspiring to me but never found time to pursue it as a passion due to time constraints and me focusing on education and career.

Post wedding and after having a baby, I felt I should catch up with all my interests and hobbies. In order to make quality usage of my time at home with my little one, I also started to record and post videos in YouTube of my day to day activities and the moments I spend with my little one.

3. Is vlogging and YouTube content creation a financially sustainable career?

It takes time to grow, settle and establish oneself in any kind of career and it is absolutely true with vlogging and YouTube content creation as well. Obviously, when you start, we do not get any payments from google/ YouTube for doing this.

It is mere happiness, interest towards content creation and the very thought of sharing with others what we know keeps us going with videos rather than the financial motto.

Once people start following you and you realize that the world is interested in your creativity is when our videos get eligible for monetization and the financial aspect comes into picture. In summary, this depends on person to person and how the world accepts you as a YouTube creator/ vlogger.

4. Who is your favorite creator and why?

While there are many wonderful YouTube creators and interesting vloggers, my favorite creator is Deepica Mutyala. The way she grew up from a YouTube vlogger to independent Entrepreneur establishing her own beauty brand is very inspirational. I can keep talking about her and her videos but probably, some other time.

5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

Content creation inspiration, honestly, is from within me. Whatever we try to do, I record- pretty simple. If you see my vlogs initially, its all what I do. I am very much interested in artwork, painting, crochet, baking and the list goes on!

While I learnt these activities independently in my free time watching various videos, I believed that I should share whatever activities I do. Apart from these cooking, baking and day vlogs, I also do a bit of travelling and I love to show the world around me to others and if not anyone, it would be a wonderful memory recorded for me and my family, and thus started YouTube.

6. What does your typical day look like?

I am a home maker with a 2-year-old toddler apart from doing vlogs / creating content for YouTube. So, you might have already guessed how my typical day looks like – Pretty busy. Managing a toddler in itself is a full day job. I believe most moms agree to this.

But, I also take some time for myself and YouTube whenever my kid is sleeping, playing by herself or whenever her dad is around. We love spending time together in the evenings and weekends as a family.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book is ‘Who will cry when you die', by Robin Sharma. I read this book while I was a teenager (
sounds like a decade already). This book has many life lessons and as a teenager, this book helped me view the world in a broader perspective.

Also, this book was introduced to me by my brother at a time when we, as a family, were mourning at the loss of our Dad. It is a difficult time for all of us to settle back in our lives and this book certainly helped me a lot get through that phase.

8. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?

Always aspire to create good and useful content. Be consistent with what you do and pursue it with complete determination. Do not focus on the results whether you get views/ likes and shares but rather focus on the process of creating the video/ artwork and enjoy it. You will see success over time when you will be consistent with your work.
