1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I was born and raised in Assam but moved to Amritsar after my 10th and Chandigarh thereafter. My dream has always been to become a fashion model. I started my modelling career in Amritsar at the age of 16. Being on the ramp was not at all easy for someone like me, who had this great stage fear! But once I stepped on the ramp for the first time, all of my fear just disappeared, and I walked as if I’m the one who owns the world.

And there was no looking back after that. I won’t lie, it has been a roller coaster ride, but it was all worth it. My family has always been my support system, I wouldn’t have been where I’m today without my family’s constant support and motivation.

I believe that one must always enjoy his journey, and not just decide a destination. Because defining a destination means limiting yourself and I don’t believe in limiting myself.

2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor/model?

Being a fashion model, I always thought of becoming an actor as well. I have already taken baby steps towards it. Till now I have done two Punjabi video songs, and a cameo in a short movie. I don’t believe in limiting oneself. One must always explore more options, and always try out new things in life. We have just one life, so why not live it to the fullest!

3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor/model?

Take action! An inch of movement will bring you closer to your goals, than a mile of intentions. There are going to be failures and rejection as well. But always keep in mind, it’s okay to fail, it’s okay to be rejected.

“A river cuts through a rock not because of its power, but it’s persistence.” Be persistent, don’t give up, and Have patience. Great things take time. Don’t worry about the destination, enjoy your journey. Have faith in yourself and the direction that you have chosen.

4. If not this, what would you be doing?

I would be a singer for sure. I love singing. I believe that life without music is no life at all. Music makes my soul happy!

5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?

Advice that I would like to give, that along with hard work you have to do smart work as well. Do your research properly, before choosing modelling as your career.

Get your portfolio done. One of the most important steps to get started with your modelling career is to have a well-rounded portfolio, give auditions, start doing freelancing, or find a good modelling agency, but before signing a contract with them, do research to find out if the agency is genuine or not.

Learn to embrace rejection, be very professional, punctual, and thick-skinned, don’t let other’s opinion of you affect you in any way. And last but not the least, believe in yourself. No one is YOU and that is your power.

6. What is your mantra of success?

My mantra of success is - “Dream it, believe it, do it.” Success doesn’t just find you, you have to go out and get it.
According to me, not the end story of someone is a success. Success is something that happens every day in the life. Celebrate your small triumphs. Little things make big days. The key to success is to focus on your goals, not on obstacles. Failure in success is progress.

7. Which is your favourite book and why?

My favourite book is – ‘the secret’, it is one amazing book written by Rhonda Byrne.
This is a great book that shows you what the law of the attraction is, and how to use it, to make your life better.

The book has greatly influenced my way of looking at the things in a very positive way. Because of “the secret” I surpassed the situations which I thought I would never survive, it helped me feel inner peace. I’m more happy and grateful than I was.
