1. Tell us more about your background and journey.
Honestly, I feel I am living two lives at the moment where I work as a consultant in the daytime and switch to working on my music during the night. The journey till now has been very fulfilling and if I talk about it in detail then I would say I started taking my formal training in Hindustani vocals when I was 7 and since then I always wanted to be a singer.
Although things didn’t shape up well in that area or I had other plans but I never wanted to leave my passion. So I started with my music page on Instagram: https://instagram.com/arunimawali.music?igshid=1gdtmcszy0spz and made a youtube channel 2 years ago and have been posting actively there.
2. When did you first decide you wanted to pursue music and how did you start?
Actually, I wasn’t the one to discover my passion at first and decide to pursue it. In fact, I should thank my parents for discovering that I could sing and pushed me to learn hindustani vocals at the age of 7. I am so glad that it happened and today I can talk about it and share my journey.
3. Who is your favourite artist and why?
I really don’t believe in the idea of favourites when it comes to music. There are so many talented people out there who are making music in the best of their capacities and creativity that I really don’t know how to choose one.
4. Can you throw some light on opportunities one gets as a singer?
Opportunities can be monetary or non-monetary if we talk about being a singer. For me what matters at this moment is the opportunity to connect with my audience, sharing my music and able to deliver it. Something that I always dreamt of since childhood.
5. Is format training required or can one train themselves purely on the basis of talent?
It's not necessary but definitely if you get one that’s always welcomed. It just makes the process of learning a little faster.
6. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring artists?
My message to them is if you love it just go for it. Keep working hard and trust me never stop dreaming. It might take some time to be where you want to see your self but it will happen.
7. Which is your favourite book and why?
I generally read self-help books based on understanding your self, your thoughts and finding positivity within because I completely need to work on these areas. So one of my favourites that I recommend to a lot of people is Life’s Amazing Secrets by Gaur Gopal Das.
