Insights on Instagram by an Influencer: Sadhique Aboobacker

What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?
I guess I joined Instagram in 2010, and it's a super important part of my life now. You get inspired and do inspire others too.
I was very crazy about photography since childhood. I used to take pictures on a mobile camera and my first couple of photographs comes from Nokia 5500 slide, those carl Zeiss optics were real fun. I actually started feeling a thing for 'fashion' while I was doing photography. I feel more confident when I dress well. Apart from making all the flat lays by myself that one can always see on my feed, I also make my own self-portrait along with getting my other photographer friends helping me. ⠀
A couple of years back, one fine morning I just checked my email and found an email subjected as 'Collaboration'. I thought what does it even mean there. I replied to them and they replied saying we are sending a watch and you just need to do some Instagram posts tagging us. The watch costs INR 21,000 and the brand name was Daniel Wellington.

How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?
Answer) A Person holding power to influence the opinion of people/friends/relatives/followers is called an influencer. An influencer can use different formats of media like blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube videos, etc to express his/her opinion.
Whereas the blogger is the one who blogs on blogging platforms like WordPress or BlogSpot.
Bloggers, Instagram, Twitteratis, Facebookers, and Youtubers are all influencers.
And yes, there are many types of influencers now, and I am focusing on fashion Influencing.
The growth of digitalization and social media has given incredible power to influencers, and the fashion industry today is influencer-driven.

Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?
Of course, Yes, and influencers can easily start their own brand too (even I am planning to start my own fashion clothing brand).
We influencer help brands to increase their value and total growth, so brands should pay well for us too, am I right?

What do you think influences consumer behavior?
Answer) At the personal level, consumer behavior is influenced by the various shade of likes, dislikes, priorities, morals, and values. In certain dynamic industries such as fashion, food, and personal care, the personal view and opinion of the consumer pertaining to style and fun can become the dominant influencing factor.
What influencers show to followers they’ll accept, no matter what was that. So, I always show best to my Instagram fam, and always avoid any harmful products like alcohol, tobacco, explosives products. Also, I don’t forget to share some personal discount code to followers, they love to buy influencers style, so show some love like discounts/offers form and try to stay them.

Your opinion on Instagram contemplating removing likes option for posts.
You have followers to focus on what you share; not how many likes your posts get.
Only the person who posted a photo will be able to see the number of likes it’s received.
That’s one incredible movement, no doubt. There are many people/pages on Instagram that post awesome content, but based on the present Instagram algorithm we received explore images based on most liked images, similar to saved, liked, followed.
After removing like option our explorer section will totally change and we will start focusing on images, not likes. It’s good for those who create awesome content with fewer numbers of followers and would be a massive change to how the platform functions. But it will affect influencers a little, I guess.

What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?
Simple, no matter how many followers you have, create best.
Study the follower's minds. Post your best time. (Probably evening 4 - 7)
Give space for your followers, like asking polls, Opinions, setup giveaways, and ask me questions.
In short “treat them like a family, not just a follower “
