What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?
As a food blogger, I take loads of pictures of food and the best way to showcase them is through Instagram. In the era of digitization, one needs to present in various social media platforms to tap most of the consumers. Instagram is one of the go-to platforms preferred by most as one of the media for digital marketing too. But just picture won’t be enough, to make it different there needs to be quality content and descriptive information about food.

How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?
In today’s world, there is a very thin line in differentiating the term blogger from an influencer. When I started writing about food in my blog it was like my online diary where I was recording about my culinary experiences. Soon there was a demand to write about food by marketing teams and business houses about their culinary and gastro molecular wizardry. The concept is to influence more consumers and followers by using pictures and knowledge.

Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?
Due to the latest boom of digital marketing there is a huge demand of quality content to get attention through various social media platforms. However maybe one per cent or less are considered as brand names. Unless you are on top of the league this cannot be your only source of income. Initial days struggle will be there, once you are established as a brand then there is no looking back. Remember, the actual challenge is one you as a brand have to retain your reputation with quality content at a regular frequency.

What do you think influences consumer behaviour?
The consumer gets attracted with the contents and informative data. Presentation and packaging become a key differentiator. You need to reach the right subset of your followers for each post by understanding their pulses and leveraging the insight data. This in return also helps in attracting new followers for you.

Your opinion on Instagram contemplating removing likes option for posts.
I personally feel this is a welcome change. Post likes may lead to biasness and this also increases the challenge for content creators to rely only on content and originality. This can also be a game-changer where we will see new players in the top of the league who gets them accustomed to the new algorithm.

Which is your favourite book and why?
Not an avid book reader and do not have any favourite books. But do love to read books by Satyajit Ray, Sidney Sheldon and Chetan Bhagat.

What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

Be truthful and honest about what you are writing. Give you full juice in whatever you are doing. Remember the world is watching you and the spotlight will be on you soon if you have maintained consistency in your journey.
