It's Our Life and We Should Always Do It Our Way - Siddhi Chirania

1. Tell us More about your Background and journey.

I've always been interested in art. I have been painting since I was a kid. I used to take part in various kinds of competitions. My mother and family have always been supportive and encouraging so that kept me motivated to paint.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be a painter/Designer?

I am not a professional painter. I paint because I love it. Currently I'm pursuing interior designing from Mumbai. My goal is to become an interior designer and paint whenever I get time.

3. Is it a financially stable career?

As I said I'm not a professional so I don't have much idea about is it financially a stable career or not but as much as I know, artists who love to paint don't care much about the money. They paint because they like it and not because they want to earn a living.

4. Who is your favourite Illustrator and why?

My favourite artist is Damian Lechoszest. He is a professional oil painter and I love his works. His paintings are very real with an old and aesthetic look. I'm a big fan of oil works so that is why I like him even more.

5. Where do you get inspired to create your art?

My inspiration comes from daily life and objects and most importantly experiences. According to me painting a memory is making something unforgettable so that's why I try to paint something which is close to my heart and means very much to me.

6. What does your typical day look like?

My day starts with my classes which goes on till 2 mostly. Then I have lunch and get back to painting. Nowadays I was busy making books so I usually go make papers or bind the books till 8. Then I do my class works and get back to sleep.

7. What advice would you like to give to aspiring painters/ designers?

My advice would be to what you like same as you paint what you like. I think everything is just like a canvas and we can paint it however we want to. It may not look good to some people but it's our life and we should always do it our way.

8. Which is your favourite book and why?

My favourite book is  A thousand splendid suns by Khaled Hossain. It is very close to my heart and I love the story. It talks about a woman's life in Afghanistan and the bad things she goes through in her life. The author has written the story in such a good way that it touches one's heart.
