Know More About the Art of Artistic Photography

What is Photography?

Photography is the ability to capture the light reflection of the crystallized physical matter, in the face of camera lenses, at a defining moment of time.

Photography is everywhere around us. Photographs are widely present in the WEB, books, products packaging, marketing. In the field of IT, it is easily available by the advances of technology, smartphones and the telecommunication. With the advances of technology, it is predictable that photography in the IT field would be decreasing due to the replacement of video materials, especially with the coming of 5G generation technology.

Artistic Photography: An Exploration

Artistic Photography is the advance generation of drawing and painting. The quality of artistic photography can be reached by specific hardware tools. The compact cameras of cellphones or some compact cameras aren't adaptable for artistic photography. Indeed, the artistic photographer needs more handling and should have the power to carry out optical parameters as well as digital adjustments. This is why a middle-range Reflex DSLR is recommended for beginners to start the artistic activity.

Internet is overloaded with photographs. It is not easy to gain a reputation in this artistic field. That's why it is important to underline the fact that every captured photograph should have a meaning. It is insufficient to just have a beautiful picture or some unique pictures taken from some hard remote places.

Tips for Beginners

Briefly, a camera is combined by areas and a lens, and some of the external mandatory tools such as Flash Lights. There are three categories of camera cases:

  • Compact category ( smallest and lowest control, like smartphone's cameras).
  • Hybrid category (medium and lighter control, lens are fixed).
  • Reflex DSLR category (heavier and full control, Lenin middle-range according to the needs).

My advice to every beginner is to invest on a middle-range Reflex DSLR camera case and lens to have the control on the light. The zoom and quality of the lens are usually more important depending on what topics of photography is needed.

What Should the Photograph  Convey?

Every work of art carries a meaning. Exploring the meaning while taking a photograph can be an early thought before pressing the shot button. Observe keenly while the camera is hanging on the neck. Think what it has to say to its admirers. Also check if your photograph is worthy of earning admiration.

How to Earn Exposure?

Every artistic photographer has an artistic project, the most obvious is to reach wider public by publishing their work, or selling. Publishing matters, but it's not easy. The major part of publisher magazines needs financial compensation to cover their workers and tools. If you are good at expressing a meaning behind your photographs you can look for editors, take contact and show them your portfolio for the purpose of publication.

The reputed photography magazines always work with reputed professional photographers only.  So, try to expose your work at local or national photography exposer events, or apply for photography contests to gain visibility and get rewarded for reputation.

What Not to Do?

I had contacted an international photography magazine for the purpose of publication, and their comment, was “ The priority of publication is given to their paid membership's members” which clearly means that the quality of publication of the materials is exclusively based on financial benefits.

Don’t just sell your treasured work for the sake of financial benefits alone. Make it useful for the world by conveying a message through it. Let others derive inspiration from your clicks.

Refrain from spending money to get your photographs published. You labor day and night to capture a single worthy shot and you throw money to get it published. Does that make any sense? Obviously no. You must be paid for your work. For this make your shot unique and picturesque and see how editors and publishers come to you.

Conclusion

Maybe it's hard to get published, but not impossible, if the quality of your work is incredibly high.

Your efforts would be paid off someday. The most important thing to keep in mind is don’t lose your confidence. Hold tight to your passion.

Keep clicking snapshots that are exceptionally beautiful.

Keep practicing photography!  Not just in vacations but always!
