People Say Followers Matter, but to Be Honest, It Didn't Matter to Me - Ayushi Shah

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I started my journey 3 years back when I was a teenager and roaming around was aim my but then as and when I started meeting people my passion for it increased and now I am doing this along with my CA studies.

And I have a partner along with me who handles the page when I am not available. Not only food, but we also started to promote products on our page.

People say followers matter, but to be honest it didn't matter to me. It took me 3 years to gain 10k+ followers, whereas I have seen people who have purchased followers which eventually degrades their engagement. Just to tell my fellow bloggers that don't let the number affect you.

2. Which is your favorite cuisine and dish?

My favorite cuisine is Asian food, especially dim sums, and khowsuey. The flavors are amazing and I love it.

They are little on the spicy side and I have a space for spicy food in my heart. Also, many food are having mild taste too so Asian food is an overall package of taste.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

It can be a regular career as well when you start creating and design for restaurants. Creativity is the main focus if you can design well for the brands, they are ready to pay a good amount. I have known many people who are doing food photography and they do a lot of good research and they earn great.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

Being in Mumbai,  I have explored alot now so my favorite joints are khowchow, lord of the drinks, rules-34, crave junction, Papaya. All these restaurants have different cuisine and are very popular too among the people.

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

Whenever I visit to a place the hygiene and the way a person attends the customer is something which attracts me the most. I have met very lively people who treat you very well and which makes you visit the place again and again.

Also, the food is the utmost priority and the presentation of the dish. As we live in a generation where food should be instagram worthy.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

It is difficult for me to associate with one particular Dish as I have memories with something or the other dish as I also cook sometimes and lock down has helped me in experimenting alot. Be it healthy food or cheesy lasagna.
