1. Tell us more about your company and your journey.

I began my career as a rider and I rode for around 10 years. The thought of carrying on my passion, doing what I love every day was my inspiration for starting V12 Race Solutions.

2. How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?

10 years is a long time to ride the tracks. Starting a company dealing with motorsports was a natural progression. Another main driver for the conception of my company was my desire to see motorsports in India raised to an International Level.

We have come a long way from weaving bikes between poles stuck in the ground. I know we still have some way to go, but the good part is we are getting there slowly and steadily. Someday soon, we might even have a Moto GP or AMA Supercross event in India.

3. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and how did you overcome that?

The biggest challenge to date has been the lack of sponsorship and corporate interest in motorsports. Although we have been successful in penetrating the market, the struggle is still very much alive to change the public mindset about the value of the motorsports.

4. What do you think are the most important qualities of a successful entrepreneur?

Never giving up. There have been many times when it was probably just easier to throw in my towel and walk away. But each time we just persisted and pushed through and the rewards were waiting just around the corner.

5. What are some of the most important factors for running a successful business?

Having someone handle the finances. Oftentimes, we get so carried away by our passion for the sport, that we forget about the financial viability factor. For any successful business, I believe passion must be balanced with a solid financial outcome.

6. What are your tips for the first time and aspiring entrepreneurs?

Dream Big and never give up. Ignore all those people who tell you to quit your dreams and be practical. And most importantly, surround yourself with positive people who believe in your dreams.

7. How can one overcome a hurdle of lack of funds when starting up?

Be born to a very rich dad. Jokes aside, have a solid business plan, and look for the right type of investors. You don't have to be super-rich to make your dreams come true. Just have the passion, determination to make it succeed and be ready to work really hard to get where you want to be.
