1. Tell us more about your roles and responsibilities.

I was the secretary of TWARIKH SOCIETY, basically its our history society. I have to manage all the things we do including organizing parties, national and international seminars, some talks and excursions also. Our society members were given different tasks. I do represent our society during seminars and talks, besides that I do manage the whole event nicely. Also, after the event I have to present a feedback of students about the event to the college.

Secondly, I was the volunteer of GANDHI SOCIETY where I have to manage the registration part and to help the students who were invited from other colleges.

2.How did you rise up to your position and how can a student aspiring the same, approach it?

I was so active in my college days and I seek new opportunities everyday. I have good communication skills that helped me alot. I do interact with peers and became familiar with the working of our society. Later I filed my nomination and presented myself in front of 110 audience including our teachers and students. Also, my seniors guided me so well that I achieved a good position. I would like to add that teamwork is the key for it.

So, a student who want to rise up to this position just have to be open to new opportunities and knows how to handle different situations, he has to be a person of situational wisdom. He must have good interacting skills and must not hesitate in facing something new. He must respect everyone and work with the team for amazing result.

3. What is it like to juggle between a leadership role and normal college life?

I was so keen to explore myself and to learn new ideas that I never gave thought about the difficulties. I was the regular student and I managed everything upto mark in my opinion. I would just say that I have utilized my time that other students just waste it somewhere else doing nothing. I was in the top students list when its about the academics part.

So I just enjoyed my responsibilities and never took them as burden and my other colleagues helped me in everything. So, everything was so smooth for me.

4.How do your parents look at you participating in extracurricular activities?

My parents encouraged me alot to do new things. They always ask me to explore myself. Even they were so happy when I was holding that position. Their guidance helped me in achieving things. Even when I share about my events they were up to give me some new ideas that might make that event more successful. My parents just wanted me to grow fully and their supported my every time which was great.

6.What are your career goals and how is what you are doing going to help you with that?

I aspire to be an advocate. Where everything is more about public skills and how you represent yourself and stand different.

So, I have groomed myself with good public skills, better interacting power, of how to represent among others and mainly situational wisdom that is the key of a good advocate. And in my opinion these skills are going to help me alot with my career and I am looking more of it to learn more things.

7. What’s your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

My message to them is- “Exposure to new opportunities and ideas are the recent key of success. We have to be smart workers and we can learn that through good internships that will definitely help you to explore your inner self. Conferences, where we got a chance to listen to a great speaker and influencer, that might help us in our careers. We need to open up our self, if you want to learn new things and to stand different among others all you need is more and wide experience and knowledge.

Good internships can help you with that and being the youth of today nation we must do it. We must do something more than others.”
