1. Tell us more about your experience as an educator.

I have been teaching from the age of 23 until today. The subjects were more Technical. Now I teach topics like Gardening and composting, Drip Irrigation, Ran water Harvesting which everyone can learn. Covid-19 gave an opportunity to reach more throughout the world with tools like Webex, Google meets, etc.

2. What is your opinion of the Indian education system and how would you like to change that?

It is Changing well now. More Practitioners are involved. Covid-19 has taught us many lessons. Our education system should work for any type of system breakdown like many bundhs, Rain havoc, and Flood, Water scarcity, etc.

3. What changes in the teaching methodologies have you seen in recent times?

Online Technology is there for so many years. Organizations used software and Video conferencing facility. We are seeing many schools and colleges using them now. Due to technology experts can be called any time from anywhere. The supervisor keeps a track of day to day proceedings.

4. How does education help one do well in their career?

Education gives a strong foundation for the career. The various qualifications are like pillars for support.

5. you think teaching as a profession is viewed at par with corporate jobs?

Definitely NO. Very few like teaching since they lack the interest, communication skills, and facing the people. The top one third who is an academically good look at more career prospects in big industries and abroad. The second set looks for teaching jobs and most of them will have a part-time business / Farming background. There is a big disparity in the emoluments between the two class encouraging.

6. How can we adopt technology to make teaching more effective?

Technology gives the power to create a new Model of connected Teaching.

Spend about 80% on technology and keep 20% for the professional development of teachers. Allow sufficient time for the teachers to learn the technology and use it to the full potential. Do stick to one platform for a couple of years.

7. Why does India need more educators like you?

More than half of our population is less than 25 years old. This means the majority of them will be in schools and colleges. The student Teacher ratio in India is not encouraging.

India needs more part-time educators like me. Practicing people can teach more about their experience. Retired people should all spend time in educating students voluntarily.

This is the best way we can add value to education.
