Everything in Our Universe Is an Interesting Premise to Me - Bhanu Yerubandi

I’m fascinated by films from my childhood itself. I used to write my own version of every film. In my intermediate 1st year there is a story in English non-detail called “After 20 years”. I loved that story. with that inspiration I wrote another story on the same lines of “After 20 years” and I loved the writing process.

1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

I am from a village called edarada in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. I belong to a well-settled family. From my childhood, I’m a decent student. I never thought that I’ll or I can write. In my intermediate, I started writing and decided to choose writing as my profession. I told the same thing to my family. They asked me to complete graduation. At the age of 17, I lost my father.

My life changed from that day. since I was the only guy in my home, I want to take care of my mother and sister.

I took up my family responsibility at the age of 17. I faced several problems. With the support of my mother, I became strong.

I completed my graduation and got placed in a company and was confused about my career. At that time my mother encouraged me to follow my passion. With the support and help of my uncle Krishna Garu and aunt Radha Garu, I joined in puri connects.

That’s how my journey started. I worked as an assistant director and writer. Now I got an opportunity to direct and I am going to direct a web film very soon.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be a writer?

I’m fascinated by films from my childhood itself. I used to write my own version of every film. In my intermediate 1st year there is a story in English non-detail called “After 20 years”. I loved that story. with that inspiration I wrote another story on the same lines of “After 20 years” and I loved the writing process. That moment I realised that there is self-satisfaction in writing and decided to write my own content and started writing stories.

By the end of intermediate 2nd year, I had written more than 30 stories. That’s how my love towards writing started and now it became my profession.

3. Is it a financially stable career?

No. it is financially not a stable career. Writers are neither getting proper recognition nor payment for their work.

The story plays a major role in the result of the project. All the 24 crafts works on the writers work but the content creators are not getting decent pay. That is the reason all the writers are turning towards a direction. We the writers don't need solid payment but we need some recognition for our work. I hope that one day writers too will get proper credit.

4. Who is your favourite writer and why?

I love the writing style of puri Jagannath sir and koratala Siva sir.

Puri sir touches some great points which are quite difficult to express. He points out the things happening in our society from a  different angle.

I love sincerity, values and ethics in koratala Siva sir’s writing. He conveys the ethical values in a commercial tone which is very difficult to convince.

5. Where does your inspiration lie?

I inspire from our earth. everything in our universe is an interesting premise to me. every creature in our universe has both good and bad sides. I study them in their own version so that I can feel their happiness and pain which later reflects on my writing. Women empowerment is one thing which I always wanted to convey. Recently I researched the life story of a woman. She is a superwoman and her life is just brilliant. Now I’m working on her biopic.

6. What does your typical day look like?

My typical day looks like a blackboard.

In our schooling.. every day from blackboard we learn some great things, gains knowledge and writes. The knowledge we gain through our blackboard increases class by class. In the same way, my day starts by learning, gaining knowledge and ends up on writing some interesting content and increasing my writing skills day by day.

7. What piece of advice would you like to give to future aspiring writers?

Take a white paper, start writing some great stuff, know your strength and follow your thoughts. observation plays a major role in writing. To be a creative writer start observing the world from a different lens.

8. Which is your favourite book and why?

I don't read books. I read the lives of individuals. for example, if I visit a library, I don't read books... I try to know the lives of the librarian, sweeper and the security guard of that library. The pain they faced in their life’s and the way they are handling things is quite inspiring.

I believe that their life will teach us great things and inspires us than any other book in this world. according to me the life of every hardworking individual who works hard to survive is inspiring and can be made a biopic.
