Find The Right Subject To Pursue Photography - Pujarini

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I have a master’s degree in Business Administration and an engineering degree in IT. After a successful career of 10 years in the corporate world, I quit my job in 2017 to become a fulltime blogger and photographer and continue my journey as a traveler.

2. How and when did you realize your passion for photography?

I caught the travel bug quite early in my life. My father was in the army and travel was a way of life for us. I realized the importance of my camera quite early in my life. I remember I used to click tones of pictures with our analog camera while traveling even as a kid.

Later on, in life, pictures became an essential part of my travel journey. Many times I was inspired to travel to witness the beauty of nature, experience heritage, and learn about various cultures. Photography became a medium for me to express my thoughts, my awe, and my learnings.

3. What are some tips you would like to share with amateur photographers?

I think one of the most important aspect about photography is storytelling. As they say, a good picture is worth a thousand words. My advice to photography enthusiasts is to find the story behind the place and its people.

Work on improving yourself technically to improve the composition of your photographs but also invest in developing perspectives that your viewers can connect to.

4. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful photographer?

To be a good photographer, your photos should have the right light, composition, and other technicalities. But a great photograph should be memorable. There are many photography styles but for me above all, a good photographer is a great observer.

Finding the right subject with the right energy or emotions is important when capturing portraits. For nature shots and landscapes, your photograph should have the power to transport the viewer to the place.

5. What are the various opportunities available for aspiring photographers?

There are many avenues to monetize your photography these days like event coverage, working with travel brands and hotels, corporate and local business associations, selling photographs online, etc

6. Which is your favorite book and why?

This is a tough one as I am an avid reader. I love reading English classics and read a lot of books that talk about entrepreneurship and path changers.
