Well, I personally feel if food blogging is your passion, keep it as it is because that's the way you will do it more passionately and would love to focus more on it. Passion & Career should be two different things.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
Myself Shrishti Prabhu Desai. I am a B.Pharm graduate. Though I am a Pharmacist by profession, I used to always feel that incompleteness in my life.
I was fond of blogging since 2018 but did not know how to start it. I will be honest, for me, blogging was only to click pictures and post it until then I got a long break in the lockdown period to analyse and know what blogging is.
I tried a lot many recipes in the lockdown which really gave me a good push from all the good feedbacks and features to start a food blog.
And guess what my recipes were selected as Top Posts of the Year 2020 by the Food of Goa and even by Oreo India.
I got a path to my dream. So yeah, All I can say is "Follow your passion, dreams would get fulfilled on its own".
2. What is your favourite cuisine and dish?
I am a huge fan of Indian cuisine with its complex spices and diverse cultural food.
Among all, I love Butter Chicken the most. My taste buds have the forever cravings to have it with Butter Garlic Naan.
3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?
Well, I personally feel if food blogging is your passion, keep it as it is because that's the way you will do it more passionately and would love to focus more on it. Passion & Career should be two different things.
4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?
I love trying and hunting new food places.
On that basis, I will recommend all the food lovers to visit Edward Yard (Pilar Goa) and try out their Garlic Cheesy Prawns in Garlicky Sauce and Bamboo Biryani.
Ritz Classic (Panjim Gym Khana) wonderful Fish Thali and Dragon Chicken, Southern Deck (Benaulim) with its Stuffed Crabs & Sea Food Pizza, Eva Cafe with an amazing ambience and sunset view, Kitchen On Top (Margoa).
5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?
I can't comment on it. Due to this pandemic, I have not started visiting and reviewing.
But if I get a chance to appreciate a dish I would definitely have 3 criteria
- It should be well cooked and should taste good.
- It should be well presented.
- The most important is that the eater should only feel the taste of the main ingredient in the dish and not the other ingredients used to blend it smooth.
6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?
Hmm No, there is no such dish.
7. Which is your favourite book and why?
I'm not much of a reader, but if I have got a chance to choose one then I would choose The Alchemist.
The reason behind this is I got the kick to pursue my dreams by following what your heart desires.
Follow Your Passion - this is all I would say.
