Quarantine is all about the content creation, Socializing and I really enjoy it I love what I do that's why that's what makes me really enjoy every aspect of my life.
1. Tell us about your background and journey
I was born and raised in Delhi and the diversity of food that you get in Delhi from a very early age I was extremely to food and cooking when I was in second grade and that too out of helplessness because I really wanted to eat this particular street food that I./ tried at a restaurant and I really wanted to recreate it and my father did not know how to recreate that from I started cooking
and the first I cooked like in second grade with Mac and cheese and then I never look back and I started cooking and developed a love for cooking and also developed a taste which I believe in accommodating all kinds of cuisine I have a vegetarian but I have a thing which most people do not appreciate But didn't stop there I love history
I developed a love for history and heritage when I will very young and I love going to places I love going to the monuments I love street food and love painting and because of that I took history as the major and I was lucky enough to get into Jesus Mary College and top all 6 semesters now I'm pursuing my Masters and soon I'll be writing a doctorate and
I want to research in food history and art history because I'm extremely interested in that So my journey began with the fact that whatever used to cook who is really appreciated by friends and family does not only do she leaned out
what they would even ask for the recipes of things that go so that I created a small page just close friends and my family were following me and ways to look at the recipes techno tried out but latest interacting with other bloggers
and also exploring street food of Delhi so I would often find myself going to Old Delhi and trying out new things would see on the Internet or if there were some recommendations by people would definitely go to that restaurant and carried out so I started writing reviews and I started to appreciate it and met some bloggers.
2. How did you come up with this idea?
I never decided that I want to be a content creator I think my audience and the people on Instagram choose this that I should be the content creator because I still don't do blogging full time I am into academia from starting I am doing a Masters am also doing diploma in culture management
and I want to incorporate all that that's why I arranged for life session where I can share my historical knowledge with people and I want to build that kind of history food and food brings people together and it very easy to win people heart with food and I have always been that person who loves you know getting social to as a social media influencer true because as a social person
I know how to talk I love talking to people and love meeting people are interacting with new kinds of people. And I feel my community on Instagram is all about that I mean I meet so many new friends and people really are appreciated and loving my recipes and some of the recipes are really new and innovative I feel that I bring something to the table on Instagram something which nobody has done that that's what defines me combining my
passion for history food and the fact that I also choose to spoke on environmental issues and a lot of other issues with what goes on in the society and always will I am a person academia so I think that's where I became a content creator and not just someone who posts that you know food pictures on Instagram that that's where I draw a line.
3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?
Yes I believe there's a lot of potentials to make a lot of money out of content creation You can make money but you need to have an edge over the others your content should speak and you have to dedicate a lot of time people think it's just about clicking pictures of food
and you can get through you have to travel a lot you have to take a lot of effort to get that one perfect shot with the perfect lighting so for that to happen you have to put in a lot of time I am still doing it but I think because
I want to combine My love for history and food and materialize it into something which hasn't been done yet and I have planning to pursue my doctorate in history and history of culture and am extremely interested in that I mean you can make a lot of money out of it but you have to have enough edge.
4. Who is your favourite creator?
My favourite creators from the food industry are Chef sanjyot Keer from your food lab and Gemma Stafford I started cooking and baking after watching Gemma Stafford videos and chef Sanjeev sanjyot Kheer is just so talented so creative
I love this recipe I love his page his presentation all of that really has inspired me and inspiring Me I consume A lot of the content and I absolutely love the continents I think these two are my favourite creator.
5. What does your inspiration lie?
An inspiration that comes to me is from my family and my parents really help me out for the recipe my mum gives me a lot of recipe ideas and suggestions and cooks some of the recipes and my dad helps me out in styling
I believe all the inspiration that comes to me is through my family and churning out content I try to take shots in a different kind of lighting but I want to keep my feet consistent I want to maintain the same kind of content that I'm posting that is my audience is consuming
that kind of content so I keep my audience in mind while churning out the content I think about the fact if my audience is going to like it or not and that's how I choose that to post it does take a lot of time and it does take a lot of effort but I believe it's worth
But I believe it gets if it gets appreciated I believe it worth it
6. What does your typical day look like?
My typical day begins with me waking up editing a picture or a video and posting it on Instagram then going to the kitchen trying out a new recipe or trying to do a recipe video shoot or if some other shoot is due for a brand I do that and then I have to study because I am into Academics so I have to read and to write my paper I get almost every week so I have a paper to write
and I am not a very Netflix kind of person I believe and I try to channelize my energy into doing something I really enjoy that is socialising do in my free time I talk to my friends I talk to my family and love talking to people I believe but that's one thing that I really enjoyed doing I really love socializing in my free time I talk to my friends I will video call with them
I love channelizing my energy in doing something creative rather than sitting in a screen and watching a movie that is something which I really don't do and I don't enjoy also I love reading books I mostly read history books and that how I spend my time now because it's quarantine otherwise it starts at 8 a.m. go to college it
I get free of Delhi University by 5 then rush to PG diploma class which is from six to eight then from 8:30 I travelled back home and again back home by 9 and then I find some time breath tale my food and then think about the next day again that how much typical working looks but
Quarantine is all about the content creation, Socializing and I really enjoy it I love what I do that's why that's what makes me really enjoy every aspect of my life.
7. A book which you like and why?
One of my favourite book which really inspires me to create content is "curry by Lizzie Collingham" it is a book on food history and it has a lot of Mughal Era recipes and fascinating you know how the food was like in the past and that that's one thing that really fascinates me.
