JioFiber is a fiber optic based broadband service provided by telecom operator Reliance Jio Infocomm, part of the Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance group. The service was first announced as Jio GigaFiber in 2018 at the Reliance Industries 41st annual general meeting. It guarantees a high internet speed up to 1000Mbps. Jio has recently announced its new tariff plans worth ₹399, ₹699, ₹999, ₹1499, and more. The company is also providing a one-month free trial for all its new users. These plans come with access to free domestic voice calling, conferencing and international calling; TV video calling and conferencing, entertainment OTT apps, gaming, home networking, community management services, device security, AR/VR experience, and more.
Different Plans Offered by Jio Fiber
- Bronze plan- The Rs 399 JioFiber Bronze plan comes with unlimited internet with download speed at up to 30Mbps. This plan ships with unlimited voice calling without any access to the OTT platforms.
Silver plan- The Rs 699 JioFiber Silver plan also comes with unlimited internet with download speed at up to 100 Mbps. This plan also provides unlimited voice calling but no free subscription to the OTT apps.
Gold plan- The Rs 999 JioFiber Gold plan comes with unlimited internet with download and upload speeds at up to 150Mbps. This plan provides unlimited voice calling and access to 11 OTT apps for free including Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar and more streaming services worth Rs 1000
Diamond plan- Coming to the last new Jio plan, the Rs 1,499 JioFiber Diamond plan ships with unlimited internet as all plans with download and upload speeds at higher 300 Mbps. It includes the free OTT benefits as the former plan. With unlimited voice calling, 1499 JioFiber plan also offers a free subscription to 12 OTT apps free of extra cost worth Rs 1,500.
An Array of New Features
While still in its beginning phase, jiofiber will also guarantee an array of new features once fully developed. Some of these features include:
Voice Assistant- Reliance Jio is planning to launch its own voice virtual assistant to enabled users to access and navigate through the device.
Free Voice and Video Calling- JioFiber will allow users to make free domestic, international, and conference voice calls through the JioFiber broadband services.
4K Set-Top Box- The 4K set-top box is just like any regular D2H STB but will come along with Jio’s array of digital services.
Home Networking And Smart Homes- JioFiber enables to convert homes into smart homes by setting up a home networking system that allows users to share images, videos to other devices connected to the broadband system.
Jio Security- JioFiber also allows users to secure their homes by connecting CCTV devices to smartphones and tabs, allowing users to stay connected to their homes.
