Abigail Sena

Every girl has a dream in her eyes. The dream may change from time to time but it is held together by the thought of carving themselves their own unique identity.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

My name is Abigail Sena & I'm currently a full-time content creator. I totally dislike the word "influencer" given by the industry so just keep it to be a passionate creator.

I'm a science student, pursued Masters in Biochemistry in Goa, a completely different background, & why not?? Wish I could have been more exposed to other courses then but I'm glad I got a chance to explore from the background I came, I didn't get served everything on my platter, I did have to work for each grain of it & I feel blessed.

It was back then in college when I started getting involved in Fashion & trying to build up a lifestyle that I dreamt about. I always saw myself wearing a crown representing my country & inspiring people out there to grow & shine.

I loved the fashion industry, the Ramp, glam, shoots which further drew me up into showcasing my talent from the local to state & national level. I begin my journey with pageantry where I started grooming myself, my personality and getting involved with photography.

In 2016, my passion gave me the winners title of a local pageant MISS CHRISTMAS CITY'16 further boosting my confidence to be myself & grow, bagging titles like MISS FREEDOM PRINCESS RUNNER UP, MISS DIVA, THE FASHION ICON'18, followed by MISS INDIA'S CHARMING FACE'18, MISS ATTITUDE'18, And MISS GORGEOUS MAGNIFIQUE'19 under my name.

And today I am called the MISS INDIA AMBASSADOR ICF'19. With fashion, I had a lot of interest in food, eating out, cooking my own to styling & photography. This was just the beginning of my dream of putting my life out to the world.

Honestly, I was clueless about where this was going to go. Unlike today I know where I want to be & what I would like to do.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

"Every girl has a dream in her eyes. The dream may change from time to time but it is held together by the thought of carving themselves their own unique identity." This is something I believe wholeheartedly. Because with my dreams I grew up to be the person I'm.

I got an interest in blogging in the year 2016, wherein I was doing my pageants which intend gave me an opportunity to travel, meet various personalities, & as I could call myself a foodie fashionista, food was love, I got to learn blogging through YouTube videos.

I did my digital marketing course while I was working in a corporate 9-5 job in Bangalore & writing long story captions on Instagram, it became a platform to showcase what I love doing & putting it out to the world.

That's where Curlyyy__locksss originated, though initially, it was just a name I put up for my page as I'm a curly head. But sooner did I realise it was just not a name, it was "ME" my personality, likes, dislikes, a curly head like me locking her stories into the minds of million people out there.

Curlyyy__locksss is about a passionate, hardworking, full of life women spreading happiness all around like confetti, talking about fashion, food & lifestyle, putting Self- love to the top priority!

I moved on working & collaborating with brands like Roadster, SugarCosmetics,
Wavelengthconceptsandmedia, Riva Resort, Aj's, Evocus, Fitternity, etc. I keep my content original, unique and good-looking, Content is king, Give your readers something they care about & something that can enhance their lifestyle, put your story out there.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

Ans: I could just start by saying, "Every blogger is an Influencer at a certain extent in their own ways, but all Influencers need not be bloggers." I am more of an Influencer than a blogger.

An influencer is a term given by the industry of course, but merely they are just creators creating beautiful content, knowing thoroughly about a certain topic or niche & having a larger follower base, which intends helps them to be true identities to influence audience towards attracting them to buy a certain product/brand.

Influencers typically communicate with their target audience, actively on social media platforms like Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram.

A blogger, on the other hand, is one who offers content through a blog, aiming to inform, entertain, or teach through content, which could come in the form of articles with eye-catching images as well. The type of content they provide can vary ranging from fashion, food, fitness, lifestyle, etc.

A top blogger is known for the quality of their content they put out attracting a number of visitors and subscribers. Curlyyy__locksss from a page is officially going to be blog soon!!! Then I can officially call myself a blogging Influencer.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

Yes, being an Influencer is sustainable for a long time, saying that I would like to add that the key would be your willingness to put the amount of effort & investing your time, creating quality content & being passionate enough towards what you want to sell out to your audience, something you enjoy doing & just not after earning some dollars.

Because if you're just starting I think money is something you need to forget about at the initial stage as that is going to pour in gradually with the type of content, you work for and attract brands to approach you & for your audience to engage.

5. What do you think influences consumer behaviour?

Though we all know the factors we learn about from the bookish knowledge as to my opinion, it solely depends on the kind of content you create & build that community around it, engaging with your audience.

It is so important to connect personally to your followers making them believe into that a real person is behind all that content posted, Being natural, showing the real you can so much influence the behaviour of a consumer.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

My idea of success is when someone walks up to me or just says to me, " It is because of you that I didn't give up, You are such an inspiration to me."

Being content, happy, humble, & staying grounded is something I live for. I Aspire to Inspire my audience out there, that is a real success for me.

And I can just pat me on my shoulder, saying to myself, " Abby you doing great, you're on the right path."

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

"Patience is a must."

What I would wanna tell my audience is that nothing happens overnight, With time and commitment, and consistent effort, it is possible for an average person to become a successful influencer."

Just " BE YOU" be authentic.

8. Which is your favourite book and why?

There are a lot of favourites, but I surely love books that help us to "Self Love".

I would like to talk about my current favourite book "THINK LIKE A MONK"
By JAY SHETTY, an inspiration to me. I have literally waited for the launch of this book & made sure I purchased it & give it all my time to read it.

It's a book giving you a new way to approach life, having a focus, a purpose, discipline. Thinking like a monk, the goal would be to let go of ego, lust, anxiety & all the extra baggage to find the calm, peace & stillness. This book literally lets you question your identity, whether is it the real you or you are just a mere image of what other people want to see you as.

Each & every word in the book has got a deep meaning changing your perception towards how you see your life. Highly recommend it, if you can get your hands on it. DO GET IT.
