1. Tell us about your background and journey.

My name is Shivam Mittal and currently I am pursuing B.Com(Hons) from Delhi University and doing Charted Accountancy course side by side. Along with this I am doing 2 internships, related to commerce, so as to enhance my practical knowledge in the field of business.

Moreover I am also doing Food Blogging and have an Instagram account by the name 'Food_wackadoos' with 9500 followers as on 1 September 2020. It’s being 8 months I have been doing Food Blogging and I would say it is really an amazing journey for me. This field helps me to explore new places and new people.

2. What led you to start this journey and your page on Instagram and what is it about?

As I mentioned I started Food Blogging 8 months back just for fun purpose. I go to different places with my friends, click food pictures and just simply put it on my page. But after 2-3 months from the beginning, I saw a lot of potential in this field. I had been learning new things daily whether it was related to marketing, collaboration, Instagram algorithm, good content, etc.

It excited  me so much that I always used to do various  experience and fusion with food at home. Initially I found very difficulties in thinking for the name of my page as I wanted to put some unique and catchy name. For this I also approached to my friends, take suggestions from them and finally end up putting the name of my page as ’Food_wackadoos’.(means a person who is crazy about food)

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

As per my knowledge, Blogger is someone who writes blogs and articles related to particular things.Whereas Influencer is someone who has a great fan following and influence others from his/her activities. But nowadays both these terms are using interchangeably.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an food blogger today ?  How can someone make money out of it?

In this era of Digitalisation, i think doing Food Blogging, which is a part of Digital Marketing, has a potential that we can make a lot of money out of it. Although it takes a lot of time and hard work for that, but once we reach at that level we can truly generate a good amount of passive income out of it. Apart from this if we want to rely on this field then we also have to make ourself available on another platforms like YouTube, Facebook, etc.

5. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

The only way one can achieve success, is by doing hard work and be consistent or active in his/her work. These are the main two factors which should be followed by everyone to achieve something in life. Moreover we should also remain patient and humble in every situation out there.

6. How can someone become a successful food blogger ?

If I talk about myself, initially I invested a lot of time in this field. I used to go to different places and explore different restaurant on a daily basis. Here again I would say the Hard Work and the Consistency are the key, which helps me a lot. Also one should grab each and every opportunity which comes in between and never procrastinate it on some other day.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

As I am from the commerce background, my main interest is always related to business. So, there are two books which I like the most, that are ’Rich Dad Poor Dad' and ’Think And Grow Rich'. If you want to learn something out of these book then you have to very attentive on each and every word and its meaning.
