My main source of inspiration is nature - more specifically the sunsets, clouds and greenery. I love adding little tiny details to my paintings to make it look more realistic. It always brings a level of peace and happiness to me.
1. Tell us more about your background and journey.
I am a biotech engineer, currently on my journey to learn design from NIFT, Delhi.
I have had a knack for art ever since I was a kid, however because of the pressure of studies, I somehow got disconnected from it.
It was during the time of my engineering, that I got back to it and @the.cookie.art was born. I realised that colours make me the happiest person in the world and calm my mind like nothing else!
2. Who is your favourite artist and why?
I have a lot of favourites when it comes to art since I like to follow all kinds of mediums and learn about them.
Few of my favourites are -
Watercolours: @ashwimisajeendran, @waldfrau_art, @artbysinch
Gouache: @tarajaneart, @henrybakerartwork
Acrylics: @e.r.a.arts, @emilymeckyart
Calligraphy: @avinashcalligraphy, @inkucalligraphy, @the
Digital art: @metrodoodles,@aliciasouza, @psparthvishah
Lettering: @lettersbydryogi, @dashaen_09, @lettersbygarvit
Sorry, it's hard to choose and I can carry on this list forever!
3. Is it a financially stable career?
Yes, definitely!
I believe doing what you love can be the best thing if the right amount of dedication, belief and perseverance is put into it, not just art - it could be anything.
4. Where do you get inspired to create art?
My main source of inspiration is nature - more specifically the sunsets, clouds and greenery. I love adding little tiny details to my paintings to make it look more realistic. It always brings a level of peace and happiness to me.
5. What kind of book do you prefer to read?
I'm not much of a reader, but I once in a while I like to read fiction - my favourite genre is romance. Happy endings are just what I like to see in the ending of any book I read (or the movies I watch).
However, whenever I need any kind of positive vibe - I turn to The Secret.
6. What piece of advice would you like to give to the future aspirants?
My piece of advice would be - Work on improving your art, practice regularly and there's nothing that you won't be able to do. Stay consistent, learn from your mistakes and don't give up!
I see artists on social media platforms running aimlessly behind the numbers, and in that thought, they somewhere lose the beautiful essence and feeling of art. I would like to give them and the future aspirants a tip of advice - just work on yourself and your skill, success will definitely follow!
