Confidence and having faith in yourself is the key to becoming a successful actor. Life is all about trial and errors so if you won’t give a try you can actually never built that faith or confidence in you to try again till you achieve.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
Well, I started my career into anchoring in events, moved on to marketing and sales for 4 years. Post my office working hours I started giving audition and I clicked my first ad for Myntra on my third audition day.
Since then it’s been 5 years I am into this industry. I did over 30 plus commercials, Channel V shows, “Ishq Unplugged“, “Kundali Bhagya” along with many other episodic-like lead roles Savdhaan India, Anjaam for Discovery Jeet, Police Factory for Sab TV, Crime Alert and Crime Petrol and many more
2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?
Not really! Since childhood, my interest was into dance but my passion and dream for becoming an actor started post my college. Initially, I thought it would be easy but as I started audition I realised that actually, it's not.
So I started working on my acting skills as I had no background from the theatre so It was like a fresh start. Now I believe acting is all about adapting a character and being yourself.
In today's world, I believe every child dreams of becoming an actor but if you really want to make future as an actor then you need to know that sacrifice and hard word is all you need.
Looks and body don't matter. Even I used to think that to be an actor I need to make good body but here, talent is respected so you need to be good and competitive in your skills.
3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?
Confidence and having faith in yourself is the key to becoming a successful actor. Life is all about trial and errors so if you won’t give a try you can actually never built that faith or confidence in you to try again till you achieve.
As I said in my previous question you don't need looks or body. All you need is self-confidence, presence of mind, talent off course. Read books and once you start auditioning you will keep getting the script, I would suggest to practice those scripts and record yourself at home. This way you will improve your acting skills
4. If not this, what would you be doing?
A Marketing Manager in MNC company since I already started my career in sales marketing, worked with good companies and learned to lead my tea. I was doing well in my job as well since I have that sharp mind and good marketing skills.
Now I can sell anything and I believe everyone should have an alternative option because I do understand the industry is uncertain and there are a lot of ups and downs. Failure should encourage you to work harder and not feel disappointed.
I have gone through every sh*t but with experience and failure, you always learn so always keep this in your mind that failure is not the end.
5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?
If you believe in yourself then you can survive in this industry! All you need it 100% confidence. Nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams. you are born to be successful and not a failure person so come out of your comfort zone and try to bring the best in you that’s how people will notice you from the crowd.
Keep exploring your capabilities because we all are born with some of the other talents. You just need to ask yourself what you good at and how you are the best person to judge yourself that no one else can say so there is no harm asking yourself all the time. I am sure we all can do the best in our fields
6. What is your mantra of success?
Keep trying till you succeed, never lose hope! It’s all about time and hard work. Always look for opportunities, experience failure, improve your skills, keep having positive thoughts because what we think happens in real.
Initially, you will find it difficult but eventually you will understand the whole process and you will know that whatever happened, was an experience and there is no harm because life is never easy for anyone.
Even Ambani had to go through hard times and just because he had faith in his vision, nothing could stop him to achieve his goals.
7. Which is your favourite book and why?
I am not a book lover, to be honest, so have never touched any book apart from my schools and college studies. But I will recommend everyone to read at least one book in your life because it always helps to gain reading skills.
When you start your career in acting you will have to go through 100 plus scripts so I believe is an add on. Mostly actor read books during their free time as this keeps them calm and focused. Reading has its own positive points so nothing should be ruled out. Once in our lifetime, it's good to experience everything.
