I Am a Bubbly Girl Who Loves Doing Something Creative - Jay Shree Soni (Actress)

Talent has no barriers. If you have Talent, no one can stop you—no matter where you are from or what the background you have. You just have to knock the door in every possible way until it doesn't open.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I belong to Gulabi Nagri Jaipur, and I completed my graduation from Jaipur Kanoria girls college. I am the youngest one among 4 siblings, so I was the most pampered one in the family. Since childhood, I had big dreams for life and still have it.

Dancing was my passion, so in school and college in every cultural activity, I used to participate in dance competitions to win the prize. And luckily I used to be the winner mostly. Gradually this dancing passion turned into an Acting passion.

One more thing I would like to tell my audience which I have never talked about on public platforms. Since childhood, I had a very unusual habit of talking to myself for long, long hours.

I do that even today, I can talk to myself like someone is sitting with me. I can entertain myself whenever I find myself alone, I think this is also one of the reasons why I am an Actor.

2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?

Yes, when I was pursuing my Graduation and as I said I was into dancing competitions and all because of that I realised, to be on stage and interacting with the audience is so satisfactory.  This is what I liked being as an Actor.

Later in those dancing phase, I got some opportunities to see myself in newspapers. For the very first time when I saw my big photos in colourful newspapers, then this thought came to mind that If I can come to the newspaper, then I can come on Tv also.

After that, I started dreaming of becoming an actor. And one day it happened true. I flew to Mumbai and started my Acting career in 2008. And to make that happened, I was blessed with my best friend.

3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?

Talent has no barriers. If you have Talent, no one can stop you—no matter where you are from or what the background you have. You just have to knock the door in every possible way until it doesn't open.

But yes, confidence and belief is a very essential key to get anything in life.
In my case when I started my career, honestly, I was also an under-confident girl, gradually I changed my weakness into strengths by pretending that I can learn anything and everything and I can succeed by my hard work and efforts.

Now I can say proudly that I am a confident girl, and I am ready to take every challenge in life. From my personal experience, I can say this industry changes every day.

But yes, don't forget opportunities will be there, and people would want to watch new talent, so keep trying that's what I did, and still I do to stay and work as an Actor. That's how this industry has been running for years.

4. If not this, what would you be doing?

Seriously I don't have the answer for this question, because if in any of the situation I was doing something else for an example like some 10 to 5 sitting job, and working on a laptop for long hours, I seriously would have run away. After all, I can't sit at one place for long hours in the same routine.

I enjoy my work thoroughly because I am a bubbly girl who loves doing something creative. That's what makes me happy. And this is the biggest reason that I am so much in love with it.

I think everyone should do what they are the most interested in, so they can give their best in that. Hats off to those who work 10 to 5 job and they enjoy it. Hmmm, but yes, I must say I am a good cook, so if I wasn't an actor, I would have been a chef.

5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?

This is like a typical question of the present scenario going on in our industry.
I don't have the perfect advice for this, but yes, from my past life experience, my friend became a doctor because her father was a doctor.

My friend is a C.A. because her mother was an employer in a bank. My sister's friend became R.A.S. Officer because her parents were from a higher academic background.

My father is in the jewellery business. Most businessmen train their children for the same business. And every kid gets somewhere some advantage of their family background. Why I am giving these examples because every child wants to become something or like someone, from whom the child is inspired.

Now see it from a different angle,  there are so many doctors, officers, engineers, teachers, businessmen. They are in that profession by their choice and their hard work, without any background or any person to take advantage of.

This industry works the same way. Definitely, the insider people are blessed so they would be at first priority and they would get the advantage of it. Today a child can predict what Taimur will become..?? But no one could predict for me. It's very much clear.

For an outsider to get in, he/she has to bloody work hard with the confidence and having that belief in the heart.

6. What is your mantra of success?

I don't consider myself a successful person. I need to go a long, long, long way and I will. To get anything in life, one has to be optimistic. Have to follow a certain routine which leads that mantra. Love yourself, talk to yourself.

Spend some time with people who can inspire you, find out the solutions of your own small problems, don't look for people to get it solved. Don't lie to yourself.

Live - Love - Laugh. Physically, mentally, and soulfully.

7. Which is your favourite book, and why?

I am so much inspired by people who have this beautiful habit of reading books. To be very honest It's not my cup of tea, and should not share it publicly, but what to do I fall asleep when I try to get indulge into one book,  I like reading the crux of the story.

I can't wait so long to be on the last pages of the book. So I have figured out one solution to it. And now mostly I read quotes related to the subject of what I want to read. Everything is available on google.

I read on love stories-relationships, health tips, read about food, read about the world, about the universe,  about Nasa, about spiritualism, about animals,  in crux I can read anything,  about every possible things, which I should know about.

Anything interesting wherever I get the crux I don't ignore to read that. Although I have tried reading books also and I liked some books. The Secret, 5 love languages author Garry Chapman and I loved this one.

Can't explain in one line why I liked it. It answers so many questions in my minds about relationships. A big question like "why this is happening with me in this relationship". Everyone has their own love languages which need to be understood by two people.
