petroleum. Our love for coffee has been celebrated annually with the International Coffee day on October 1st .

What Is the History of International Coffee Day?

International Coffee day also observes a long history of the drink. Coffee is
believed to have originated from Ethiopia as the coffee plant grows there
naturally.

Around 500-800 AD, the coffee plant was then taken to Yemen, by one of
the great masters who was based in the port city of Mocha. Hence, the name
of the popular coffee flavor came from this city.

From then on, coffee has been the most loved beverage in Asia. This coffee
invasion was the start of the love affair of the Western world, where they
began setting up coffee houses for the rich, and it had also become the
centre of all intellectual activities.

Coffee is one of the World’s biggest crops today. So, buying and promoting
ethically grown coffee is all the more important – be sure to be selective in
buying your coffee and supporting ethical trade.

So, when you drink your coffee today, inhale its aroma, taste its dark and
full-bodied flavor, and think about its story, but most of all, enjoy it.

What Are the Health Benefits of Coffee?

These little brown coffee beans have a substance called caffeine, the main
reason why loads of people including you and me love coffee. The most
loved beverage has its own beneficial effects.

Most of us drink coffee to get rid of the sleepiness and sluggish feeling
during daytime or whenever needed. Also, coffee is naturally rich in
antioxidants. These antioxidants can help rejuvenate your body and well
being.

Apart from this, the green coffee is said to help speed up your metabolism
and as an aid to weight loss. In addition, coffee reduces the risk of cancer,
stroke, and Parkinson’s disease. Coffee may also lower the risk of Type II
Diabetes.

Most importantly, coffee enlightens your mood, helps fight depression and
lowers the risk of Suicide.

For all the coffee lovers out there (including me), here comes the most
important part, the list of “Best Coffee in the World”:

1. Jamaican Blue Mountain

As the name suggests, this is grown in top of the Blue Mountains of Jamaica.
This is considered as one of the most expensive coffee in the world. Only a
limited amount of Blue Mountain Coffee bean is produced yearly.

This has a beautiful bold taste and a Powerful kick of caffeine in order to
keep you awake for hours. If you have any plans of visiting Jamaica, and if
you are a coffee lover, you should definitely try this. You will instantly love
it!

2. Italian Coffee

Clearly, Italians have mastered their crafts really well when it comes to
passion about food and drinks! In Italy, coffee is a very serious business, so
it has to be treated with utter respect and a bit of research before you utter
any random coffee lingo!

Hence, it is of no surprise that Italian Coffee is considered one of the best
coffee in the world.

Each time I visit Italy, my mornings would be incomplete without a cup of a
freshly brewed Italian coffee paired with a croissant.

Once when I visited Florence and went to a coffee shop, without even
thinking anything I uttered the words “latte, please” and placed my order. Of
course, the Barista made me a cup of hot milk!

Basically, in Italy, latte means milk. I felt so stupid at that point of time. So,
here’s a lesson learnt. ‘Caffe’ known as, Italian coffee, Is a strong shot of
espresso.

Majority of known coffee blends nowadays that you can get from the coffee
shop near your house, mostly have Italian names. Perfect examples include,
café latte, Americano, macchiato, cappuccino and many more. In Italy, it is
customary to offer or drink caffe after dinner.

3. Old Town White Coffee

This particular coffee is for you if you like the sweet blend type of coffee!
This coffee blend is originally from the Ipoh, Malaysia. This particular coffee
is roasted with margarine for a short period and it is served with condensed
milk.

4. Colombian Coffee

This particular coffee will give you a real good kick of caffeine and it comes
in different strengths whichever you might prefer. Colombian coffee has a respected reputation in the coffee industry and hence, it is one of the largest type of coffee production in the world.

5. Turkish Coffee

Turkish coffee is a must and trademark in every corner of the Ottoman
Empire. The preparation up to the serving to this coffee has a character of
its own.

A good Turkish coffee is made in a coffee cezve, which is a small pot that’s
used to simmer the coffee, in order to ensure the prime taste and quality of
the coffee. The thick and frothy consistency of Turkish coffee makes it
delicious and makes it a must-have whenever you visit Turkey.

The Turkish coffee is typically served with water in order to help cleanse your
palate ready for the strong taste of the coffee.

6. Civet or Luwak Coffee

Just like the others, Civet Coffee is one of the best as well as the most
expensive coffee in the world. This particular coffee blend is made from the
faeces of the Asian Palm Civet. Though this sounds so disgusting, but this
little fella's (Palm civet) poo can be considered gold!

As a precaution, you have to make sure that you will support Civet coffee
that is sustainably farmed, as in some places, the health and living conditions of the Asian Palm Civet are not really looked after well by the farmers!

So there is your bucket list! These are my bet for the best coffee in the world
and you can definitely add some more different types of coffee that you
personally love, to your bucket list!
