Abhilash CS

An avid researcher in mind related studies. The founder of the popular Instagram page writer4reason and mindgospels.com. As he put forth his thoughts through his Instagram page as a humble gesture to help people across the globe, which resulted in increased love and appreciation for his work.

1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

My name is Abhilash aka writer4reason on Instagram. I’m a mentor, author of the best selling book (Mind Under Microscope), and an Instagram writer. I hail from Kerala. I have done graduation in Bachelor of Technology in computer science and thereafter went on to work in the banking sector.

After that, things turned around, when I started writing on Instagram - especially relatable and inspirational quotes. I got a lot of appreciation for my work there, and more and more people joined my community. People started sharing their day life struggles and problems with me, and I suggested some techniques to counter it. They started seeing great results in terms of the quality of their thinking and thereby life itself.

As the time passed, I found it difficult to mentor as many people who approached me, as the number of people increased dramatically. To solve this problem, I wrote a book called Mind Under Microscope which got published last month. (which took me 1 year to write). The book will help you from understanding your mind, to controlling it with the least effort possible. It is written with the primary purpose to help people understand themselves in a better way. To my surprise, I’m overwhelmed by peoples response regarding my book since I'm getting great reviews every day. This is my journey so far.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be a writer?

My decision to pursue writing and mentoring career all stemmed from the basic want to help people know themselves better. Most of the people in this world are, in one way or the other, facing difficulties on a day to day basis. They don't even know how to harness the infinite power of the human mind, so I thought of educating people about their own hidden powers, and I thought words have the power to change people's mindset and attitude towards life. Thats how I entered the writing industry.

3. Is it a financially stable career?

Honestly speaking, its a risky business as far as the financial aspect is concerned. But, in my opinion, if you want to do anything great in life, you will have to climb the stairs alone. As the great investor Warren Buffet rightly said “Risk comes from not knowing what you are doing”. When you get better at your craft, risk subsides.

4. Who is your favorite writer and why?

I don’t have a favorite author but I have a favorite genre - personal development and self growth. But from the people who I have read, Greek philosophers like Marcus Aurelius and Seneca have influenced me a lot along with Eastern philosophies, as they helped me in building a sound mindset.

5. Where does your inspiration lie?

I draw inspiration from learning each and every day about my own mind and thought patterns. When you observe yourself, you start analyzing patterns in your thinking. When you write down these findings, they are powerful and helpful to the whole world. After all the whole purpose of penning things down is to make our world a better place.

6. What piece of advice would you like to give to future aspiring writers?

The perfect time will never come and you also will never be perfect. If you have an idea, which you want to share to the world, write it down. Little by little one travels far. The journey won't be easy but, that's what makes it interesting and worth trying for. The power of words alone is enough to gauge the value of a writer and his writings, moreover, when you are writing, you don't know how many people you are inspiring. So, I would suggest all the aspiring writers to set aside your inhibitions and give wings to your dreams.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book is Atomic Habits by James Clear. This book has taught me how to be consistent in life. Moreover the ideas in that book were quite practical and doable.
