I often used to intimate characters that I see in movie. My aim was not to become an actor at that time but I had a craze for it. I felt like whenever I walk, there is some camera facing me and all my actions were like that in a way that I was filled with shooting surroundings.

1. Tell us about background and journey

I was born and brought up in Coimbatore. My father was working in SSB and my mother was an ex-superintendent in the Indian Army. I lost my father at the age of 8. I did my schooling in SBOA and college in Sri Ramakrishna. I had love for cinema when I was doing my 8th grade itself like seeing first day shows in theaters. Overall I had craze for movies.

I often used to intimate characters that I see in movie. My aim was not to become an actor at that time but I had a craze for it. I felt like whenever I walk, there is some camera facing me and all my actions were like that in a way that I was filled with shooting surroundings.

When I joined college, the interest for acting slightly increased and at the same time I had some fear too whether I would be able to survive in the film industry or not. So, I thought that I need a minimum guarantee for my life. After finishing my graduation, my interest for acting increased and my fear reduced that I can give a try to pursue my profession.

In spite of this, I thought about my family situation too as I need to ask time from my family and so on. So, I thought of convincing my parents that I am going to prepare for my bank exams and so I need some time for it. After my family agreed, I researched about the film industry silently without the consent of my family.

2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?

When I was trying to pursue my passion, I came to know about Prasanna Balachandran (Script writer of Nakkalites channel) who is my cousin too. We weren't too close at that time and we both came to know about our interest in the film industry.

So he gave me a chance to work as an Asst. Director in his short film because I had an interest in direction. When I was in this juncture, I came to meet Rajesh (Creative writer) who was working with Prasanna for a long time and he was directing this telefilm 'Andaparambarai'. I was the first Asst. Director for Rajesh.

The film featured Livingston, Sasi and Chella. My journey started during this telefilm only where I got to meet new faces. After that short film there was a gap in which I was convincing my parents and on the other hand I was trying for acting.

In the mean time the people with whom I was working were splitted up into different directions. We all came together during the time of demonetization only. We all were against that and so we all gathered at that night and decided to do something.

The common thought of everyone was cinema. We thought to express our views in the art form. So, we took up Satire as our genre. We realized that You tube was the future and we thought of doing videos and posting it in our channel.

We did a lot of Political videos and our journey started with a group of 5. It was first initiated by Prasanna and Rajesh and we all joined together and now I feel happy when I look back at it.

3. Is You tube and vlogging content creation a financially sustainable career?

Of course but there are some terms and conditions for it. We need to discover our areas of strength. It shouldn't be started all of a sudden without any proper preparation because I have seen people who start with anxiety and fail to succeed in it.

Coming to us, we do Satire, Life style and web series and most of our goals is to enter the main stream. We were able to sustain because we worked very hard before starting it. If you are able to sustain itself it would be a financially sustainable career.

So starting a channel is easy but maintaining it is very challenging for us. To maintain it we should really know our interest or else it would be difficult. So, according to me, you need to start your channel when you have deeply researched on it.

Once if it is done, you will be able to grow our channel more and also have a stable career.

4. Who is your favorite creator and why?

I have many favorite creators and I learn many things from everyone. I personally like Kariko because their contents would be so good. In tamil channels I like Blacksheep because I learn how they manage in making up videos at regular intervals and their marketing.I like micset too for delivering their videos in a very different way like a cinema.

Also, Temple monkeys and eruma sanni for their differnt approach and spontaneity. To mention a few they are Ram Nishanth, Anbu Dhaasan and many more. So, I would like to say that I like each and every channel for many different reasons.

5. Where does your inspiration lie?

When I was about to start my channel, the politics that were happening was the inspiration for me to start the channel because it gave many contents. Before we started itself many channels did something related to this so it motivated us to go further and also we believed that it would surely have a good reach.

Personally, I would like to all my videos to be entertaining which is not easy as like to go deep into the script and live with it. There are many artists who do like this so I consider all this as my inspiration.

Apart from that, the response we got from the people was very inspiring and motivating for us to do and deliver many videos and to entertain them.

6. What piece of advice would you like to give to the future and aspiring artists?

I don't feel like giving any advice as we too are learning from my experiences. So, I'll try to give some suggestions from my experience.
  • To become an artist or in any kind of field first learn about that because when you learn more you will be able to discover more
  • Don't have a rough mindset and be contended. Try to learn new things as far as you go
  • Acting would be a pleasure if you learn many things and also you would be able to do many challenging roles
  • I personally learn from many autobiographies as that would be useful in developing our acting skills
  • Work with discipline. Even if we do entertaining videos, our work shouldn't be irresponsible. We should be sincere to it so it would stand for a long run
  • On the whole I would say that Learn more, Analyze many things by watching movies and practicing it
  • Don't go down if you are not able to reach your desired goal
I always think this one thing in my life 'Taking one day at a time'. I will only take that day into account. I don't have an answer if anyone asks me what I'm going to be after few days and if I know also I won't answer for it. So this is me and work and focus is one thing that I always believe.
