It is really hard for small Creators to
survive on only social media earning. I always say this to everyone have
a solid earning source and then try to become an Influencer.
1.Tell us about your background and journey.
I am Megha Gupta but on social media I am known as cloudy_secret. I
come from a academic family background, I have completed my masters and
also a trained teacher. I have worked as research assistant and I love
to teach. My love for makeup and skincare started really early because I
used dance and participate in various acts.
So
when I was in college I started reading about skincare, makeup,
ingredients and formulation and applied to be freelance writer for a
renowned beauty blog. And slowly startedy independent work after
realising my passion for content creation.
2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?
As I stated while writing beauty blogs for others for few bucka was fun
but I didn't have any authority over the content I was creating. So I
just made a decision that I will start my own page on Instagram.
When I
started out, none of my friend or family knew what I was doing as I was
too afraid that no one will understand. Most of them still don't get it,
but my parents know and have full faith, so it's fine now.
My profile
mainly focused on BEAUTY- Makeup and Skincare. After getting a bit
recognition I have started posting content on Lifestyle and Fashion as
well. But beauty will be my main niche forever.
3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?
Blogger is someone who own their own website with proper domain name
for their blog. Where as an Influencer is someone who can help others to
decide for themselves and have the power to influence others.
4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?
To be very honest it is really hard for small Creators like me to
survive on only social media earning. I always say this to everyone have
a solid earning source and then try to become an Influencer.
5. What do you think influences consumer behaviour?
There are many factors are there and it works differently for each
people. For me I feel being true to my self and my audience is the key.
Also honesty and transparency plays a huge role when it comes to
influence consumer behaviour.
6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?
I always believe hard work and smartly putting your energy in a place
is key to the success. Even if one person is getting influenced by me or
getting a result because of my recommendation that's a huge success for
me. I value every single positive impact as my success.
7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?
There is no hard and fast rule to become a successful influencer.
Success is really subjective. Only way to find success in social media
is to find an faithful and organic audiance who supports and values your
journey.
8. Which is your favorite book and why?
There are lot of books that are my favorite. Currently I enjoy reading
inspirational books and beauty related books but Harry Potter series
will be my all time favourite.
