Learning Bharatanatyam professionally brought the artistic side of me. Through Bharatanatyam I got to do a lot of commercial shows and that's where I ended up doing my first serial in Vijay Tv 'Kadhalikka Neram illai' , through that I did my reality show ' Jodi No.1' and from that I got my first film 'Leelai' which was released in 2012 .
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I'm basically a army kid. I was born and raised in an army environment. My dad retired as a colonel in army. I did my diploma in Bharatanatyam at Kalakshetra Foundation and stayed all by myself in Chennai learning this art. The reason for me to learn this is all because of my father. He really wanted me to learn Bharatanatyam as he had a lot of interest in this art.
This is the main reason for me to step into this art and that is the link to all the artist that I am today because if I haven't come here I wouldn't have found the artistic side of myself. Learning Bharatanatyam professionally brought the artistic side of me.

This film was something that literally marked me as an actor because it was my first introduction into big screen and the experience that I gained through it was very beautiful. So, it always remains close to my heart.
After that film only I found my love for acting but I do what I really wish to do as an actor and I did few films and took a break and now I'm back again to do what I really love to do.
2. What are your hobbies and interests?
My hobbies are Dancing and Singing which basically comes into my profession. Other than that I am a sports person and I love Swimming. So, yes that is one of my biggest interest in hobbies but my main hobbies are dancing and singing.
I also love to eat. I don't know whether it is an interest or hobby, just putting it here.
3. What made you to pursue your career as an actress?
Well, as I said my first film 'Leelai' really triggered the interest in me to become an actress and till then I didn't thought about that even when the movie came to me it was something like I didn't want to miss the opportunity since many don't get it easily. So, I went ahead and did it.
After doing the movie I realized that I wanted to do it for the rest of my life and that experience of the first was really amazing.
4. If not this, what would you be doing?
If not acting, I am hundred percent sure that I would be in sports be it Swimming or any other sport in particular. Always next to my dancing, I love sports. So, yes if I wasn't in film industry I would have definitely pursued my career in sports.
5. What advice would you like to give to the future budding artists?
Frankly speaking, actors coming up right now are so well planned with themselves like properly groomed and everything but the main advice I would like to give them is that,
' Respect your art, Love your art and love the art form'
Always be ready on time because that's something very important as a professional. Always keep learning and improve yourself. You never ever know enough of what you are doing so always keep learning and improvising your capability.
