There are many Bollywood movies which cannot be forgotten once watched. Many people’s hard work is involved in the making of a movie. Like students success is measured by his or her marks, the goodness of a movie is measured by its box-office collection.

But as said student’s potential cannot always be measured by marks. Exactly in the same way the goodness of movie should be determined by its good concept not by its box-office collection. There are many movies which have good concept but got a tag of flop due to its collection.

In this pandemic situation all of us are spending more time in our home and getting bored. So, one should spend their time by watching movies having good concept and story line. This article will tell the readers about some good movies which are referred as flop because of its collection.

1. Swades: 

Swades is a movie directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, starring Shahrukh Khan. This movie conveys the story of an NRI who returned to his country and does not have a good opinion about India.

This movie shows how the thought of an NRI about his country changed during his stay. This movie is a patriotic movie with a good and light story line without any major drama.

2. Mera Naam Joker: 

Mera naam joker is a movie directed by Raj Kapoor, starring Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Simi Garhewal and many more. This movie is about a clown of a circus who makes everyone laugh but deep inside he is surrounded by sorrow.

This movie shows the struggles in the life of a person and his failed love stories. This movie is the longest movie till now with screen time of 239 minutes. I think this movie beautifully explain the proverb i.e. life is a pendulum between tear and smile.

In my opinion people must watch this movie once in their life. The IMDb rating of the movie is 8.2. This movie has received many filmfare awards also. So, go and watch this movie with your family and enjoy the unexpected long holidays.

3. Dhobi Ghat: 

Dhobi Ghat is an artistic movie directed by Kiran Rao, starring Amir Khan, Prateek Babbar, Kriti Malhotra and many more. It is a realistic movie. The movie depicts the story of four strangers a photographer, a painter, a launderer, and a common and simple girl.

The story line of the movie beautifully connects the life of four strangers. This also tells the tale of a life of a struggling actor. In this movie people will also witness the life of people who work in dhobi ghat (the title of the movie).

The story of the simple girl is the surprise package of this movie. The movie also gives the glimpse of underworld and its connection with Bollywood. I think some movies tell the truth. The movie has received various International awards. Its IMDb rating is 7 out of 10.

4. Masaan: 

Masaan is an artistic and realistic movie. It is directed by Neeraj Ghayawan, starring Vicky Kaushal, Richa Chaddha, Sanjay Mishra and others. The movie depicts separate stories of two strangers who live in Varanasi and their struggles.

People will also see the life story of families who work at cremation ghats. This movie is so realistic that after seeing this people will definitely agree that it depicts the true story of two common people and their family.

This movie will definitely touch your heart as this movie is one of a kind. This is a Bollywood movie that you will not regularly watch. Its IMDb rating is 8.2 out of 10.

5. Guzarish: 

Guzarish is a beautiful movie directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starrng Hritik Roshan, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Shernaz Patel, Nafisa Ali and many more.

This movie tells the story of a great magician who got paralysed many years ago while performing a magic and in present time he did not want to live any more as a burden.

In this movie people will see how his nurse gives a ray of hope to his hopeless life and fall in love with him. This is a good story with a good message. I think Bhansali has tried something different and good. Its IMDb rating is 7.4.

6. Andaz Apna Apna: 

Andaz Apna Apna is a comedy movie. It is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Amir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Shakti Kapoor and many more.

This movie revolves around two spoilt brats who belongs to middle class families and want to marry a rich girl for her money. The movie’s storyline is amazingly written with the mixture of comedy. People will also witness the famous character of Shakti Kapoor i.e. crime master gogo.

This movie will definitely make you laugh at every point of time and will give you all a perfect face massage. I was shocked when I knew that this movie got flop. This is the best comedy movie of its time. Its IMDb rating is 8.2 out of 10. .

7. Sonchiraya: 

Sonchiraya is an action movie directed by Abhishek Chaubey, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Manoj Baypayee, Bhumi Pendekar, Ranveer Shorey, and many more.

This movie revolves around the life of baghis of Chambal Valley in Madhya Pradesh. People get to know about the rebels of ancient times their lifestyle, ideology, and life struggles. People will see how series of incidents led to heart change of a rebel.

I think is one of the best periodic movies. The acting is mind-blowing of each actor. The setup of ancient Chambal Valley was beautiful. I will say watch this movie because of its good concept not because of sympathy. Its IMDb rating is 7.9 out of 10.

8. Lakshya: 

Lakshya is a movie directed by Farhan Akhtar, starring Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan, Om Puri and others. This movie tells the story about an indiscipline boy who does not have any aim in his life and how he becomes a good army officer.

I think this is a movie that every youngster should watch as this movie will tell that our life is nothing without any aim in our life. The IMDb rating of the movie is 7.9 out of 10.

9. I am Kalam: 

I am Kalam is an inspiring movie. It is directed by Nila Madhab Panda, starring Harsh Mayar, Gulshan Grover, Pitobash Tripathy, Hussan Saad and many more.

This movie revolves around the life of a poor child who is extremely inspired by the missile man of India Late Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam. He wants to be a scientist like our former President.

This movie depicts the struggle that the boy faces to fulfil his dreams. The amazing storyline of the movie conveys the message that every child has the right to education so that he or she can fulfil their dreams. Its IMDb rating is 8 out of 10.

10. Water: 

Water is a movie based on a novel ‘Water’ written by Bapsi Sidhwa. It is directed by Deepa Mehta, starring Lisa Ray, John Abraham, Sarla Kariyawasam, Vinay Pathak and others.

This movie tells the tale of an eight year old young girl who lives the life of a widow in an ashram because his husband is dead. This movie has a backdrop of British India.

This movie depicts the struggling life of a widow in British Indian time and how the widows were ill-treated by the society in ancient time. The movie shows the low thinking of the society. The IMDb rating of the movie is 7.7 out of 10.         

Usually people think that watching movie is a waste of time. But this is not always true. It depends which type of movies one watches. Movies with good concept and message will definitely teach us something. So, the choice of movie is important.
